First of all, thanks for the feedback.

I hate the hot page. We built it with good intentions, but it just hasn't worked. I want to change the main homepage tabs to be the major formats, then underneath each of these we could filter by hot/new/unloved as well as filter by user tags. Do you think that could work?

A big issue we had in the past with letting users select the format of a deck is that you end up with decks marked "Standard" that have rotated out. We are trying something in the background at the moment to auto-tag decks with a format. It could be as simple as untagging "Standard" decks when cards rotate.

I like the idea of giving users recognition, we tried to do this with comment upvoting and user reputation, but I don't think this really worked. maybe the addition of aschievements/badges would help that would be displayed against your username in all comments to make to show how much of a badass you are?

I love the idea of forcing decks to be tagged with certain key information such as casual/competative/1v1/multiplayer etc. I will look into this.

Cheers!

This should be fixed now, if it's the same bug we're talking about! I think it was just happening on certain browsers. Let me know if it's still a problem!

I think we originally limited it to 4 as we didn't want user's tagging it with every keyword ever to make it appear all over the site.

We were attempting to auto-tag format (in the background), but maybe you're right, we should just ask the user what the deck is... The reason we took this option away in the past is because we ended up with a whole bunch of decks tagged "Standard" that are no longer standard once sets rotate out.

I like the casual/competitive idea and 1v1/multiplayer idea. I think I was just hoping that tags would cover all of this, but I don't think it worked out that way. :(

I'd like to replace the main homepage tabs with a tab for each of the major formats, these format pages could then have hot/new/unloved decks underneath them, this should hopefully take focus away froma single page of the site...

This site is not about one user. This site is a tool to let you store your deck lists for future use. The tool is not dead and it's not going anywhere anytime soon! ;)

I agree. The hot page is bad.

I want to replace the current homepage tabs with tabs for each of the major formats and then take those tabs and have hot/new/unloved for each. I think this will help funnel people to the content they actually want to see and will take away focus from a single "hot" destination. The site is so much more than that one page.

I'm very happy to listen to anybody's thoughts on this.

Since we took the forums offline, I agree - there's no decent way for users to get in contact with us. For now, the best way is via our Facebook page. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I'm still here and I still add the new sets as soon as they come out(ish). The site isn't dead, roughly 400 new decks are added every day and I'm still paying the server bill every month! ;)

The main problem is community and how we're portraying/pushing the wrong things to the homepage tabs. We're working on how to resolve this, so please bare with us!

Hot decks has been a pain since day one to be honest with you. I personally want to get rid of the current homepage tabs and replace them with a tab for each of the major formats, I'll get around to doing it soon hopefully.

We're working on bringing them back integrated into the main site ratehr than a separate sister site. :)
