Thanks for the ideas! I feel like Devoted caretaker is the best pick of that litter, the only worry with him though is that they drop an enchantment or use an ability. Devoted is a one drop though, which is very nice to have out early on.

Love 8 1/2. Will have to add him, no question. Mirror entity was my only concern- while he may boost some of my guys, he can also drop my true monsters like doubtless one. Let me think on him for a bit- will sideboard him for sure (I think he would play very nicely with Heliod's ability later in the game). thanks for your thoughts!
I love heliod in this. I originally had Battletide in the mix, but chose to get rid of him in lieu of the other 5 drops. With Heliod, however... I think you're onto something. Will sideboard both HARD for now. Thanks for the ideas!
Comments and suggestions are welcome!
I love this deck- wouldn't change a thing. Great work.
I would only be weary of the mana here- with your curve, you may want to consider adding more land to the mix. Especially with well of lost dreams, you'll want that extra mana. Also, elixir of immortality?
Agreed on the cost- not near enough mana ramp to make the 4 cost a viable answer. Throw in a couple gatecreeper vines to pull your gates/lands more quickly, and replace sorcery spells with the cheaper options. Seething song can ramp you quickly if you want to pull deus of calamity turn 3.
Oh, I love it. Maybe sideboard a few cloud shift in case you have to drop those goats quickly? Can pop springjack out, cloud shift him, then let conjurer's closet hit it again. 3x in one turn, BAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Jace, thanks for all your thoughts. And wow, research / development is just crazy with isochron! Talk about shenanigans... I really like keeping it u/r, makes casting multiple cards a turn far more feasible.
Good thinking. Made the change. I really appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks for your thoughts! Replaced counterspell with dissolve (I love adding the draw control for the 1 extra mana), Ponder with Serum Visions, and preordain with see beyond. Not positive about see beyond, but it gives me options to drop my weakest card in the hand. That should make it modern while not giving up too much ground on quality of cards.
It's looking pretty good- without a shuffle ability, though, I would prefer to see ponder over brainstorm as your 1 drop draw. If you have a rough draw, brainstorm can leave you suffering for the next 2 turns. Plus, that should make the deck legal in vintage and legacy.
Thanks for the input. Decided to add in O ring and ethereal armor, provides similar removal condition with added benefit of further strengthening the ethereal enchanted creature.
Love these kinds of decks- You can hit them so hard, so quick. Hexproof makes it tough to manage- love seeing gladecover getting the recognition it deserves. The only addition I would make is to include 2 Phalanx Leader. He beefs up your whole crew, and as a 2 drop doesn't wreck your curve. I would drop 1 land, 1 pit fight to keep it at 60. Just my 2 cents, though!
I don't really see how this deck stops them from drawing a card. Also, this deck seems to be all over the place. You are looking to mill, using doorkeeper's ability, right? I'd first simplify the deck- choose multiples of cards you really want and forget the rest. You have a decent amount of cards to slow them down, but not to stop them. Instead of spells that minimize their attack, kill the creatures altogether (add in more doom blade or other insta-kills). To further control, add in a few discard cards, like Wrench Mind or creatures with discard abilities like ravenous rats. You then have them crippled enough to dig at their library using doorkeeper, mind sculpt, and breaking/entering. Relying on the defender creatures to beef up doorkeeper's ability is huge, as well. Add as many defender creatures as you can, but try to put in ones that have abilities to control the game (Wall of frost comes to mind). Good luck tweaking! It will be fun when ready.
Thanks for your comments! priviledged position is out of the price range for the budget deck, but i agree that protection from their spells is necessary for the non-heroics. I threw in some brave the elements, should help in a pinch from instants and sorceries.
great tweaks. I wanted to keep bloodpainter in as a continual resource for sac, but took out a lightning bolt and 2x barrage, added 2 bombardments and 2 flings. Thanks for the help!
Just built a similar deck last night! So much fun. As a suggestion, I might consider dropping tidehollow strix (baleful strix x4 should be sufficient with deathtouch) and adding in 2x Jace's Phantasm, 2x Nightveil Specter. Gives your deck a little more diversity and options both early and later in the game. I personally like to have a couple victim of nights to clear any pesky creatures that could foil your plans. Great deck, and even without my tweaks it should be a lot of fun.
