I groaned a little at the pun in your deck name. That aside, I like it. Very well put together

Agreed. I really wanted to find a slot for Metalwork Colossus and Inspiring Statuary, more so the big guy though. I just burn through my artifacts so fast that there's no guarantee that I'd ever be able to reduce his cost enough to cast him. Same thing with Statuary. Now Indomitable Creativity was just too good to pass up in here, and Servo Schematic is three artifacts for 2 in the eyes of my cards that require sacrifices, so that's just straight value. Tormenting Voice is good because it'll help me dump the extra land I don't need because I always have extra even with the low count. On that same note, I dropped Mycosynth Wellspring to help keep me from overloading on land.
Made some updates now that kaladesh and aether revolt are both up. Only two cards, but hopefully it'll make the deck better in the long haul
Yes it is.
Nice. Looks like it would be a pain to play against. Shame you aren't using red though. There are two VERY effective red cards at giving the opponent a lot of creatures, though one is conditional. I'm working on a deck that uses them and massacre wurm for a big kill
Huh. I guess that works too.
Stern Constable, Pull from Eternity, and Read the Runes. That's eight at least right there. How it gets into the graveyard doesn't matter, so long as it's there at the beginning of the upkeep
I'm guessing there's a Massacre Wurm involved somewhere? Lol
Depends on how you build it though. One of my friends has an orzhov deck that's incredibly frustrating to play against because it messes with life so much. On that note, I also made some adjustments to my rakdos deck and want to know what yall think. I haven't playtested it yet, so bear with me. It's casual btwhttp://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/death-festival/
That's just dirty, but it's my kind of dirty. I'm a black primary player so that falls right into my usual spectrum. Ironically though, I don't have an orzohv colored deck. Got Rakdos, Golgari, and Dimir covered though
Ah ok. Just wondering because nothing says "well fuck" like a Mycoloth devouring ten lings and then dumping twenty every turn after.
No Parallel Lives? I get no Doubling Season since its expensive, but why not that one?
Yeah is pretty sad thinking about how much gets wasted overall for only a few good cards
You know what else has seen to many reprints? Basic fucking lands! Like, I don't need a 40 pack of land every time I buy a damn box! I can't tell you how many extra basic land I've just straight up pitched because I had so many and they took up space! Sarcasm aside, they really do print too much basic land.
Yup. Was just thinking about that the other day, along with the fact that sol ring is so often seen in EDH decks that it's almost taboo to not include it it seems. Like I don't have it in either of my irl EDH decks because I don't want to waste a slot that could be better devoted to something else than an artifact that only gives me one extra colorless mana. But yeah that's a perfect example of just how badly too many reprints can severely impact a powerful cards price. Oversaturating the pool like that only hurts more in the long run, which is clear from the data you posted on sol ring. By the way, I'm not taking a pop shot at this deck because it also has a sol ring in it. It's to each their own on what to add, so if you feel the need, put it in there.
Yeah the Masterpiece sets they plan to do with each new set are a nice way to spice up a deck with something fancy and not crash the base price, but its literally just printing money like you said. If they would stop all these reprint heavy sets it would greatly benefit the sales of other products. I love the Conspiracy sets because it's a draft focused set that also gives legacy some fun toys, but when you have things like Eternal Masters competing with it at roughly the same timeframe then you're literally driving a wedge in your buyers. Not everyone can afford to drop money on a box every month like that, and it really hurts. I would say that the Masterpiece sets are really close to what I was suggesting for a booster set, with the big difference being how fucking rare they are. I got stupid lucky and pulled a Mind's Eye in my literal first pack of Kaladesh from the box I ordered, but not everyone gets that fortunate. That's why I suggested a booster vs a rare as fuck pull in a set booster. And mtgblackman is right, not all FTV cards are worth it. Most are just fancy updates to the frame and artwork, nothing more. Makes the set literally "I'm buying this for like two cards and the rest are just trade fodder for later" sets, and I don't like that at all.
I can see that myself. Like I own a set of white border Fastbond (which isn't legal in anything besides a one of in vintage, and for good reason) because it was literally a margin of $50+ difference. FTV is cool and all, but I don't honestly like it that much. And yeah, I really wish they would tone down on the reprints of really good stuff to no more than one every say two years. That would help keep them at a decent collectors price without gouging the market so much I think.
See what would be nice would a new style of booster that could potentially be a fix to that. Take a few cards that you WANT to reprint, and a few cards that are so expensive that a reprint would be nice, and make a set out of those cards only. No fluff, no unnecessary extra padding, just those cards. Make them a small set, like fifty-ish cards in boosters of 3, and sell them for $10 a pack. It's less fluff to deal with, you would 'always' get something that's decent, and it wouldn't hurt the market that much. Also, I really do like the idea of bringing back the white border. Some people (myself included) like the white border cards because I can get a reprinted card for cheap, but the original black border card doesn't lose its value as much because of a reprint. There HAS to be a compromise for this, and WotC NEEDS to find it, otherwise Magic is going to fall out of favor with its long term players.
I try constantly to build in a different mold. That's why my WU control deck builds around Myth Realized and why my 8 Rack deck doesn't focus on Ensnaring Bridge but instead on Waste Not. The shell is similar, but I gut and modify it to make it mine as much as possible. And I personally hate netdecking. I refuse to do it.
I've seen several like it. There aren't much in the way of original decks anymore, not unless they use stuff based around a new or obscure mechanic. You can make small adjustments, but there's rarely anything new these days. Magic needs a boost badly in the new deck department
