It's more for spot removal rather than targeting the player. I could use it for that if I needed to though. I wanted to try and fit Syncopate but just not sure if I want to drop anything. If I were going to drop something I guess it would be one Azorius Charm for a Syncopate. As for Skullcrack, not really needing it. If my opponent wants to gain life, let him. If I can stall the game out he'll be overwhelmed by Assemble and Elspeth. Thanks for your input though.

Yea that probably would have been a better move.

I made some changes to the board. I didn't need four counters in the sideboard so I took out Negate and added in Last Breath. Also added in two Fiendslayer Paladins just to have something to put in early against fast red decks. Also added in two scry lands to the maindeck.

Yea I boarded in Blind Obedience but I didn't see it which sucked because during game two his deck wasn't moving as fast.

Deck did really well tonight. I got 3rd place in San Antonio:

Round 1: U/W Control Vs. Mono Black- Draw- I took game one, game two I saw Elspeth way too late to make a difference. Had I gotten her earlier it would have been a win. Game three dragged out

Round 2: U/W Control Vs. Rakdos Aggro- Won 2/0

Round 3: U/W Control Vs. Mono Black- Won 2/0

Round 4: U/W Control Vs. Mono Red- Lost 0/2- deck was very fast and I couldn't keep up with the damage. Didn't have any of my cheap mana spot removal spells in the starting hand each game either but not sure if that would have made a difference

Round 5: U/W Control Vs. U/W Control- Won 2/0

I was surprised I got 3rd with a draw but I'll take it.

Yea I used to run it back when it first came out. I'm not against running it just like what I have in the deck currently.

Pithing Needle can be removed from the game, countered, or destroyed. It doesn't kill my deck. You're more than welcome to go try and preach to the other U/W control decks that won first place at MTG standard premier.

Yea it's a pretty dick move. Like I said though, it wouldn't even stop my deck because if he destroys my Detention Spheres I can get them back with Elixir. If he decides to destroy Elixir then I'll just tap it and sac it in response and his spell fizzles. There are cards out there that counter every deck but any good magic player will just work around them.

Kinda why I have counters in the deck. If you think I wont counter a Pithing Needle, try me. It doesn't kill my deck. Just slows it down.

That really would only slow my deck down. There are better things this deck would like to do turn 5, especially with the mana ramp. I could keep mana open to counter/remove anything my opponent brings out, play a planeswalker if needed, or hit Sphinx's Revelation at the end of my opponents turn. I can't see Prognostic Sphinx being any good in here.

1. I only have 3 Sphinx's :(
2. AEtherling is tougher to get rid of so he's in there just in case
3. I've been considering switching Far//Away with Devour Flesh
4. Refresh the page and look at the deck in about 2 or 3 minutes.

Not really needed tbh. That would only slow the deck down. Really I probably don't even need Pacifism. I could put another creature in to up the aggro.

Sorry for not posting this after FNM everyone. Was a very busy weekend for me. Here were the results:

U/W Control vs. White Weenie- 2/0 Me
U/W control vs. U/W control- 2/0 Me
U/W control vs. Mono red- 2/1 Me
U/W control vs. Selesnya Aggro- 2/1 Me

Sadly I only pulled second. Guy that got first had better opponents and won all his matches 2/0. I'll take that though.

Well I pulled one Elspeth Sun's Champion and I should have this deck ready to roll by friday. I made some changes to the deck since I don't have two Elspeth but I did playtest with a friend and I want 2x AEtherling in the deck for sure. I want 2 Elspeth but 1 will do. I'm running this at FNM and I will let you all know how I do. Thank you everyone for your input!
