Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm looking at alot of these improvements and they make total sense. I just needed some other sets of eyes to see what I couldn't.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! thanks ahead of time.I want to make black devotion great again! (via collusion of the mtg vault community) XD
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million.
This is pretty nice. My vampire deck is one of my favorite decks and it can actually be competitive in modern if done right. And I believe you've done it right. My only suggestions are Gatekeeper of Malakir and Vampire Hexmage. Gatekeeper is a 2/2 body that can be buffed by your lords and is also a source of removal. A two for one. He is like a Geth's verdict that can stay around for awhile and get bigger. The same goes for Vampire Hexmage. I know hero's downfall can hit creatures too, but Hexmage is another two for one. she gets buffed and can fight, then takes care of any Planewalker issue that may come up. She also hits artifacts and mechanics that run on counters. And if you have a Hexmage on the field, it often discourages your opponent from playing their planeswalkers and/or forcing them to use a removal spell on a hexmage instead of a more important threat.Have a look at my vampire deck and let me know what you think. It may even give you some ideas. Its been very successful for me.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
I have suggestions, but first... do you want suggestions for the vampire theme or suggestions to make it competitive?
if you're going to keep 4 bloodline keepers in the deck, I assume you want token generation to be a common occurrence. Shadow alley Denizen is amazing if you can make one or more creatures every turn. Also gatekeeper of malakir. He is a source of removal, but doesn't always have to be used as such, and a turn or so later can be a 4/4 or 4/3 with nocturnus or keeper.Shadow alley Denizen also triggers from bloodghast's landfall
If Stormkirk Captain is your only red spell, I wouldn't even bother using him. And definitely run x4 Nocturnus and x2 Bloodline keeper. Take a look at my mono-black Vampire deck. It might give you some ideas. It's one of my favorite decks and it is surprisingly competitive. http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
If you're not worried about slimming it down to 60 cards and keeping it a little less competitive and somewhat more casual. I would - 4 Dark Ritual and -1 Increasing Ambition. +2 Sanguine Bond and +3 Exquisite Blood. Its a fun little infinite combo that can fits your Vampiric lore theme nicely. And its an infinite combo which is always fun. Even if you don't get both Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood out at the same time, both cards are pretty strong on their own.Check out my mono-black Vampire deck and let me know what your think. Mine doesn't have quite as much flavor as yours, but it's slimmed down for a little more competitive play.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
With such a heavy creature base i would suggest shadow alley denizen. She ia a great turn one play and triggers off of bloodghast re-entering the battlefield. Check out my mono black vamps. Let me know what you think.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
I would side out hexmage, and play dismember if you are trying to run control. Inquisition of Kozilek or thoughtsieze could really make an impact with this deck. Thumbs up for Phyrexian Obliterator. That guy is ridiculously broken. I've thought about running one in my modern vampire deck, Take a look and let me know what you think.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/All in all, cool deck.
This deck looks awesome, I would love to play against it with my vampires.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
Dark Depths is really cool, but I want to keep this modern legal.I would have to agree with you that Inquisition of Kozilek is a great card to have in my opening hand. I am almost just as happy to see a Shadow alley Denizen in my opening hand though. Depending on which one i start with will set the tempo for the match. But 4 Inquisitions are better, so what to side out? Maybe Sign in blood?Dash Hopes is a beast of a card. It is a way for a mono-black deck to somewhat interact with counter magic, enchantments, and artifacts. A lot of my opponents (most who play against me often) are not willing to pay the 5 life. Because they know how fast this deck can come to life. but either way its a counter spell or 5 damage straight to the face.Dash hopes is pretty much useless against crazy life gain though, they pay 5 life every time.
*like*This deck looks awesome! It really makes me think grey merchant could be competitive in modern. Awesome work!Would you mind taking a look at my modern mono-black vampires? I'd like to know what you think and if you would have any suggestions.I would personally main board the dismembers and side out the victims of night.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
I ran feast of blood for awhile, but it was always too slow. Casting removal on a main phase can really mess up the curve of this deck. I love the idea of malakir bloodwitch. I have one currently, the only downside is, i designed the deck to curve out at 4 mana. But perhaps one 5 drop wont kill me lol.As much as i like dark imposter (i have 2), bloodghast is too strong and works too well with small pox. Not to mention that turn one denizen, followed by turn 2 bloodghast sets an amazing tempo for the rest of the match with all of the intimidation triggers. Thanks for the advise, and yes..... the lashwrithes are absolulty brutal in this deck.
*like*Cool, I like that you kept it Innistrad only, really fun flavor.Check out my modern mono-black vampires and let me know what you think.
For being a budget deck, this seems to be very fast and effective. Maybe add some unholy strength in place of bump in the night though.Check out my updated mono-black modern vamps and let me know what you think please.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
Maybe even some evolving wilds to help mana fix.
This is a fresh take on modern vampires. I like it a lot. I would like to play against it with my mono black vampire deck.I would suggest some shadow alley denizens to help your vamps get through for some damage and gain counters.Check out my deck and let me know what you think.http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/this-deck-sucks-v3/
I have had great success with this deck and I am always looking for ways to improve it. Any feedback is welcome. If you comment with some constructive thoughts, I am more than happy to return the favor.
Nocturnus has the ability to turn on as soon as he is played, without needing 5 vampires in play to flip like Bloodline keeper. I just played a match where it was turn 1: swamp, dark ritual, nighthawk. Turn 2: another swamp, dark ritual, nocturnus. needless to say, that game was over quickly. But bloodline keeper is still very strong and I still run 3. He can also activate Shadow Alley Denizen when he makes his tokens. allowing for one of my fatties to get through and deal damage. He is one of my favorite cards. This deck can often win with the vampires just doing their own thing, but Lashwrithe is SUCH A BOMB! It can hit so hard if an opponent doesn't have an immediate answer, (which they usually don't). Because it can be casted AND equipped on turn 4. paying life to equip. (and because the germ is black, it triggers Shadow Alley Denizen and allows whichever creature you equip to gain intimidate). If you have one extra mana, you can trigger morbid on tragic slip from the germ token dying. This deck runs amazing and consistent. After tons and tons of play testing, I have found a pretty sweet configuration. it wins 9 times out of 10 in my play group. (Except against splinter twin, I'm still working on that) Thanks A Lot Darko789 and Muktol. your suggestions have really helped me shape this deck.
