Cool deck. This is why I use Leyline of the Void.

I shall take a peak today!
It is allowed in vintage. But it has restrictions. You are only allowed 1. Also, I play mostly casual. Still, we go by vintage rules and only allow 1 per deck.
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Granted, it isn't the mana ramp that Green has (white can't compete). The card is far more powerful when actually put into play. I can't believe I got it for $2. Surely that card should be like $20. It has saved my life on a number of occasions. It works great with Sol Ring. Urborg is cool in that it essentially makes everything a dual land. Again, it is not Nissa, but it has worked well for me. I recommend Nykthos to everyone as it can run in just about any deck.
I think a control deck could stuff it. I have a control deck I am building right now that I am hoping can beat this deck (I am going to let my friends use my own deck against me). This life gain deck has done well against Red Aggro, RG (with mana ramp), Mono Black (lots of counters and curses/inflict), and against other life gain decks. The weird thing? I have yet to play against another life gain deck that actually uses life gain as a weapon. I don't understand that. They use it as a way to get a ton of life points, but they never thought of life bombs, token sprees, or juggernaut counters. But I would love to play against your deck!
I'm a newbie. I latched onto life gain and control. Control because I saw it as a defense mechanic. Life gain because I saw its potential to be a weapon. I can take a Ajani Pridemate and turn him into a juggernaut. Or launch life bombs that blow up my opponent while boasting my life. Or I can flood the board with tokens. It has been effective in games I've played thus far (I've gone 14-2). I even built my deck to have mana ramp. But am I doing it right? I have no idea. I've played people who have lots of experience, but no tournament like players. So I don't know. I like the game though! Always learning.
This is true. I thought Urborg doubled your mana pool and I was wrong. However, it does make all of your plains dual lands, which is nice. Plus Urborg counts as a swamp. And any other land you have can now function as a swamp as well.
A suggestion:I would run a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx over 1 of your Emeria, the Sky Ruin. You can essentially tap it for 2 and double the number of plains you have in play. And if you throw in a Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, every one of your plains doubles as a Swamp. This again doubles your mana output. Plus, Urborg and Nykthos come into play untapped. I have found this to be an effective way at ramping up mana in white.
I like to use Sanguine Bond with Celestial Mantel and Rhox Faithmender. :) You could even throw in Exquisite Blood and turn it into an infinite combo.Question: Do you prefer Brave the Elements over Holy Day?
Thank you for all your help!
It took a lot of work, but I finally got this deck down to 60. What do you think?
What kind of deck do you think I should try to make?
Hmm...Brave the elements instead? I like that idea!
I know. I really debated with myself forever over that. I love your idea of mono white. But my brain keeps coming back to blue for defense. It allows me to stuff doomblade, hero's downfall, or any other awful thing black throws at me. As well as red's lightning bolt attacks and other low mana instances. I figure if I can keep them off my back long enough, my Pridemates will just run over them. Good or not so good thinking?
Never mind. I was going to recommend throwing in Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. But it probably wouldn't help much.
I made some tweaks to the deck. I also played it a couple times. Let me know what you think!
everything in my sideboard haha. It is a list I have built up. I built it up through research. I researched the game for a couple weeks to try and find the best cards I could. Unsure how they all work together, but I am inching my way toward that. haha.
The 2014 one. It had some cool stuff in it, but nothing too awesome. I really want Serra Ascendant and any of the Elspeth cards (Knight-Errant, Sun Champion, and Tirel). I also like Baneslayer Angel and Fiendslayer Paladin! But what series are those found in?
I am working on my second novel! It is my first fantasy novel. I did a fantasy short story once. The story I am crafting is more of a sherlock holmes stuck in a fantasy world type thing. I am loving it so far. Fantasy just lets me take the cap off my imagination and lets me run wild! I have thought about Fat Packs. What kind should I get? There are so many! Journey in Nyx? 2014? 2015?
I sorted the cards I own into the main deck and the cards I intend to get soon into the sideboard. When I first started playing magic (a whopping 3 weeks ago), I bought a intro deck, a deck tool kit, and some booster packs. Since then, I have found it so much cheaper to buy single cards. I usually use tcgplayer.com or my local comic shop. I typically find some great deals at tcgplayer.com. I love this game. It is not only fun to collect the cards and play, but it provides inspiration for my writing!
