Yeah, and now I could stop any of their spells from being played with Iona first turn.

One thing is that I can't afford entomb, it's expensive!

Those are great ideas. I was thinking something along the lines of this...

There, updated!

Thanks for the suggestions, most of those changes I was going to make already, but you were helpful.

Should I include red here? I feel like that could be powerful and Land tax could act as a fetchland.

There, I made a side board. I don't know if this is the best one, but it's good for so far.

Might I want to put dark ritual in? That might help mana. If I get it first turn than I could speed things up quite a bit!

Yeah, your right. Isochron scepter would work well here, but it is absurdly expensive! I am going to hold off on it.

Nice, but I don't know if you have enough re-animation cards. You can tutor for reanimate but you might want something more. Also reanimate deals damage to you for each reanimation, so I don't personally like it in this deck.

My two cents

(P.S. You're 1 card short!)

I'm thinking I might want to put doom blade in to the main deck. I feel vulnerable without removal. I won't make a decision until I play test though.

Necromancy is one cheaper than zombify and does the same thing, that might work better. Also animate dead is good too, for two mana you can do nearly the same thing as zombify, but I love reya dawnbringer in this deck!

Thanks, also REALLY!!! I can get entomb for less than $2 each! I might consider junking the strands of night, because they are too slow, but in slightly longer games they would be awesome. Also, lethal vapors doesn't really help with my reanimation theme. I think I have enough fatties to not really need buried alive, but I've been thinking of bringing in some entombs. That might be helpful.

Thanks for the imput!

I think this is a good first draft, but why so many cards of only one copy? If a card if good enough to have one in the deck than you should include more. This doesn't allow you too pull your better cards often enough. I would get 4x of the best burn cards in your deck. Also, I agree with raggedjoe, if your going to have creatures make them cheap and have ones that work with your burn.

My two cents!

Good luck on the rest of your magic decks!

There we go. Maybe not the best sideboard yet, but I just am planning that for later.

I just looked at the legacy merfolk deck comments and there was a nice explanation there of what to sideboard against. That should help.

I feel like I should plan out a sideboard, even if I don't play tourney magic right now I might start eventually and it would be good practice. Any tips?
