Not shabby. Do you need Dark Ritual with that low of a curve? Perhaps some Despise could help. Check out my discard deck if you have a chance.www.mtgvault.com/planbfan/decks/deny-deny-deny/

Swap Bolts for what?.. Helix? More scry is always good, thank you. I like the 2-drop of Zealot more than Supercow's 3... however i had to at least sideboard him. I'll change him to 4 and make the phoenix 2.
Let's try this, evened out the curve and added some Vamp synergy with Kalastria highborn!
He's there to keep the curve down and discourage aggro. For example if someone manages to get out an elemental I have cannon fodder and then a 4 life swing. I also plan on sac'ing Bloodghast for Mind Slash. Gray Merchant would work well, and do a lot of damage, but he's expensive. With super low curve creatures i can establish board control and still force discard every turn. The life gain also helps offset the Underworld Connections & Thoughtseize if the game goes longer than expected.
I love the theme of this deck, looks very fun to play... and you made it standard! Check out my decks when you have a chance, would love some new perspective. www.mtgvault.com/planbfan/
Especially if you have more than 1 out. Thanks for checking out the deck!If I use Mind Slash and sac Bloodghast, I get him back by playing a land, opponent loses a life and I gain one, and I get to choose the discard... All for 1 mana.
For modern legal you can use Diabolic Tutor, for anything goes you can use Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, or Goblin Tutor.
If you really want to be mean... Use Undying Evil with vexing devil, it's just unfair. I had a rakdos deck based on it. Wouldn't work too well with the elementals, however. Thanks for checking out my deck! Feedback is always appreciated.
Elixir of Immortality would work well in this deck methinks. Heck even a Vexing Devil.Looks fun to play. Check out my modern discard deck I just made if you have a spare minute. http://www.mtgvault.com/planbfan/decks/deny-deny-deny/
Gray Merchant or Fanatic would be fun, do some burn damage, and use whip to bring it back and burn again! I love any discard, so I love this deck!If you have some spare time, check out my new modern mono-black deck (with discard!) http://www.mtgvault.com/planbfan/decks/deny-deny-deny/
Deck has been updated to add a little more speed and some utility dealing with creatures/enchantments.
I made a few changes, Eidolon of Countless Battles will be nasty in this deck methinks. I think I might even sideboard the Mistcutter's for Ethereal Armor or Renounce the Guilds just to piss them off even more.
Titan's Strength, maybe even some Aqueous Form. Like everyone else said, some more creatures. Lots of card draw for such a low curve deck helps a lot, good thing you have it!
Interesting change-up. I thought of this deck more of as an aggro deck... try to make the creatures quick, big, and buff them with lifelink/trample/vigilance. Most times when I play this deck I don't even get to the Hydras, I usually do hella-damage with a Fleecemane + Courage or Voice/Gift combo tokens. Experiment One with Voice tokens coming in every turn gets real big real quick. Thanks for the input!
Oh I meant using it's activated ability with Fanatic and Merchant! However I can see the benefit from the Hammer and haste for the fast-play. I'll check out that deck for ya.
This looks really fun to play. I was surprised when you mentioned a T4 devotion, great move. I would like to see another Whip in exchange for the Hammer, great synergy with the Gray Merchant/Fanatic. Speaking of which... have you had a chance to play test with with that many Merchants? Sideboard a few Duress or Thoughtseize could be good for those pesky blue decks or board wipes. Love the deck. If you have a chance, could you take a look at one of my decks and provide some feedback? I would appreciate it.
Feedback would be most appreciated, if you have any suggestions. Or maybe it's that awesome already???
Bred for the Hunt + multiple ways to make creatures unblockable = card draw for one less mana. Fathom mage is a solid choice, though.
A 4-drop for mana ramp is a little iffy for me. However with evolve and bio shift it's quite easy to ramp Sage, a lot of flexibility. It's definitely something to consider. I should probably build this deck. If I draw a Kiora this weekend I probably will, however I finally finished my EDH deck and just built 2 new decks, so justifying the price for 2 Kiora's isn't really there.
I should have also added "mashed potatoes"
