Well, this looks familiar eh? :)

I basically have Horrifying Revelations and Despise in there 1) because they are cheap, and the deck needed a few low-cost cards, but 2) because forcing a little bit of discard would (hopefully) make them drop some creatures in the graveyard, which i could then exile with cemetery reaper. I was contemplating Grimgrin, tbh. But the only problem I have had with this deck is that it can move a little slow on occasion, since there's really no ramp at all in here. Thus, adding a 5cost creature to the mix gives me a little hesitation. I agree that there are probably better choices than Horrifying Revelations, I just like it because it's cheap and gets two cards in the GY instead of 1.
Cryptoplasm works beautifully in this deck. I can copy one of my titans. I can copy a spellskite. I can copy a wall. I can copy an enemy flyer (since this deck has no way to deal with flyers, if I fail to counter it), I can copy an enemy badass, I can copy enemy Legendaries and make them die, etc etc. Cryptoplasm is one of the last cards I would remove from this deck. And I say that because having played this deck several times already, they work wonderfully.
I liked that idea/the synergy so I added the Assassins in. Kind of playing with the idea of Snapcaster Mages also. Thanks!
I get what you're going for here. It looks alright to me. You have the frost titans there for punch, and for control - I get that and think they are fine in the deck, especially since you have so much mana ramp. You might consider adding Ice Cage, and Cemetery Reapers to accompany your grave titans. Currently you're 3 cards short of 60, if that matters. I have a control deck that feels very similar to yours, though I don't have mana ramp in it currently. Take a look if you would - http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=211254
Also, check out my Goblin Burn/Bomb deck.. Boom and Burn and NOM! (Creature/Combo - Red) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=195397
Danke Schon! Goblin Arsonist / Mudbutton Torchrunner + Goblin Grenade = 6 or 8 damage instead of just 5. 1 or 3 of that damage can be assigned to separate targets.
I like this alot. Very cool.
Ended up taking out the Infect guys, and moved a few other things around. Focused more on the mill aspect now.
He's got Xenograft in there to make all of the creatures another type in addition to Illusions, so that the Automatons will give everything an extra boost, I'm assuming. Ie, One automaton boosts illusions, one boosts... hell, Wizards I suppose (chosen with Xenograft and works with the lord of the unreal by default).. one can boost dragons (again, chosen with xenograft), etc. Also, from the looks of it he's trying to keep it Standard, though a few of the cards in there will rotate out in September. Anyway - Redeemer - it looks nice! I do think you could add a little more control or draw in there though.. maybe shift out a few of the cards that are going to rotate out in Sep anyway for some Vapor Snags, Gitaxian Probes, or Ponders. I made an Illusion type deck myself very recently.. have a look if you like. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=208382
can probably do those instead of the flame jabs.
You could do needle drops.. draw cards WHILE burning.
I have a very similar deck, but without the ramp like Bloodbraid and Birds. Check it out if you like. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=198360
Might think about Primal Forcemage. Could cut down the Colossal Mights/Giant Growths in exchange.
I have something similar going on with the manabarbs/Sanctuary. Looks interesting! Can have a look at mine if you like: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=207440
I added a land, (and reduced the heavy mana cost cards by one) but overall I feel the mana curve/lands are just about where they should be. There's a couple Dark Rituals in there as well. The other thing is that even if I weren't able to play the few more expensive cards, I think the deck can stand on its own without them to a degree.
You need to take the kings out and put tunnelers in. :P
Looks really nice. :)
I thought about doing a green/black version, for the card you mentioned. In the end I just liked the look of this better.
