Shame Chance Encounter isn't in Modern, isn't it :P

Missed a trick not calling this "Tybalt" :PSick deck though, I've always enjoyed cat tribals. Nice to see one that doesn't revolve around the equipment support in the tribal as well, this is quite interesting. I may recommend dropping the spirit of the hearth in favour of another honor of the pure or something similar (Crusade :P), as it's a 1-of, but otherwise, very nice.
I can confirm that after having DedWards suggest Sprout Swarm to me I have generated over 16 billion additional saprolings. Also, Life and Limb would be a nice combination with Sporemound (possibly infinite?).
I don't personally know much about modern competitiveness, but this seems really very good indeed. The untapping creatures for convoke buyback is a beautiful touch. I would say possible a little lacking in win cons, but then Pallid Mycoderms should sort you out there (which I've just noticed). Psychotrope Thallids may help with drawing into your required cards, that's about the only thing I can see. And finally, as always with a tokens deck, there's always room for Doubling Season :P
Yeah, mana fixing was also something that I was thinking about, I spent too long originally on the balance of stuff and just ignored the mana base :P smart move, and thanks. Sprout Swarm I've been debating over for a while vs Saproling Symbiosis, the buyback is a real boon there. Perchance a little playtesting is in order. And thanks for the tip about Mirrorweave, Paradox Haze is pretty core to making this work so I'll have to test that back out again.
Yeah, something I was always wondering about. I figured as it was instant speed it was "whenever you damn like", but I haven't actually read the rules properly on it. Oh well, more Rites :P and I'll check out Obelisk, thanks :D
Marked as unloved again, mainly because I'm interested in whether there's anything new that might be of relevance? Green blue, huge, huge amounts of Saprolings.
This, this I enjoy. I've always been a fan of Mycoloth, and green/blue shenanigans with tokens in general. Ivy Lane Denizen is a beautiful part of the combo, especially with Doubling Season on the field. SO yeah, good stuff :DI've got a couple of dedicated saproling decks on my page, this one being the most relevant to this whole discussion: http://www.mtgvault.com/nantucketsleighride/decks/saprolings-beget-saprolings/. Vorel is also an excellent addition, and something I'd consider putting in my deck, too. Makes that Mycoloth all the more ridiculous.
Thromok is the most ridiculous beatstick I have ever seen.
Liking and commenting JUST FOR THE DECK NAME
You have green, and you don't have Doubling Season. Expensive, but turbo-charges every counter deck ever.
Fundamentally, I think this has just become too big of a beast for one user to handle. Respect to BurtonErnie for trying this, but the way this thread has exploded has put the mockers on it actually achieving its intended purpose. Speaking as someone who has never had a hot deck, and who is a avowed casual Magic player, it was a great thing to see someone trying to send some love to the casual decks, the budget decks, the stupid combo decks that'll only work 1 in 10 times, because there's a hell of a lot of fun in this system of ours to be found there. In short, a lofty goal, but unrealistically executable.
I think this might be the first deck I've seen that isn't legal in ANY FORMAT. So, good job for that!
Right, I'm not the most clued-up standard player (as a caveat before I say this) but: I'm struggling to see how this deck wins. Is it tutoring out the control creatures and waiting for Garruk to show up?
Thought I'd join in on these shenanigans: commented on this: http://www.mtgvault.com/jerzeydevyl/decks/devotion-to-green/
Devotion: absolutely awesome. I would say it might be an idea to take a few of the hefty mana cards you've got 4 of down to 3, but looking closer, you really should be okay mana-wise. Is it Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx that everyone and their dog are running in devotion decks these days? That would ramp you up quicker to the big bads, but again like I say, it looks solid from my perspective. I'd be scared to play against it, anyways :P
My thanks dear boy! I swear, these days I look at all cards from new sets and think "hey, how could this be of relevance to my darling Saprolings" :P Reaper king is a great card to pair it with though, oh damn.
Ah, sorry if that wasn't clear, that's what Necroskitter does: when a creature with -1/-1 counters on it is put into their graveyard, it comes back to play under your control.
Pretty horrifying stuff here, I like it. The only thoughts I've got for the moment are the necessity of the manaforge cinders (you don't look like you'll be hurting at any point for mana fixing), and possibly think about adding Necroskitter in for more thematic shenanigans, plus stealing their dead creatures is always funny.
Fix'd. Added some Urban Evolutions and Soul Tithes. Seemed nice.
