It's based off the Jungle Secrets deck. At first I was going to go for a spammy aggro list like your suggestion, but the tap creatures are way more helpful than they look. Frequently you'll start second, and have only tap lands, so you'll get a one drop on turn 2. The tapdown creatures are extreeeeemely useful. The Dive Down is when you run into the other decks on mtg arena, the mill decks- gotta shut them down.

This is the starter deck from Arena. Also, Phytoburst isn't standard legal. Giant Growth is about to be legal again, so if there are any substitutions, it'll be that.
Take a look at the recent Dinosaur decks, they're very similar to your build type- expensive creatures, non-blue, etc.Sweltering Suns is only if your meta allows it. I find whatever is in your deck they're playing the other need. Have Suns? Then they're playing Dredgezombierecursionamatorfinks. Have Anger? Well then they're playing x/4 or indestructibles.
I hate Fellwar Stone! Everflowing Chalice, scales, is 1/2 the irl money cost, and doesn't have the problem Fellwar has when the opponent only has colorless mana or none at all!Talisman of Impulse has an even cheaper irl cost, and can produce colored mana as well as colorless.I'm assuming the 12 sweepers are because the dragons cost so much, and you need to not die? Take a look at the Gruul colored Dinosaur decks that were in Standard recently, they all used ramp because the dinosaurs (in your case dragons) are so expensive.I'd keep Anger to hedge against Finks or things that don't die vs having Sweltering Suns, and sideboard the rest, put in Bolt.Budget Sideboard-You need Ratchet Bomb to keep the Taxes style decks off you.-Graveyard hate to stop Dredge, reanimate, flashback decks. Relic of Progenitus is the standard, but Sentinel Totem will do.-Guttural Response in counter heavy metas-In mill heavy metas, Elixir of Immortality is cheap irl, and great to help against burn.No budget-If you can afford it, why not Aether Vial?-Try saving up to get Sarkhan, Fireblood if you wanna make mono red Dragons really shine.
There are very few reasons not to include Lightning Bolt in a mono red deck. It's cheap, it's irl affordable, it's a build around on red.
I just tried a sorcery speed only removal deck, and got destroyed. Has to be instant speed.
The meta doesn't allow it. I have to drop random mill looking cards, then drop Guildmage only, and only when I have 5 mana minimum and surprise them. All the cards not part of the combo are protection or instant speed. If I had an instant speed tutor, I might.Actually, I could squeeze it in if I replaced Cranial Archive, and put one of the auto reshuffle Eldrazi in the sideboard replacing Nexus. But then the monetary cost would go up, and this wouldn't be budget :)
So that's how they build intro decks... Learn something everyday. :)
Did you guys forget about PD? http://pdmtgo.com/ One cent cards only. You'll be how fast prices fall to 1 cent when people don't remember that "broken unstoppable card".Decks that are hot in the format right now: https://pennydreadfulmagic.com/Mono White EquipmentMetalwork ColossusJeskai ControlRedTemur Ascendency
Cathartic Reunion isn't in standard.
The consistency is terrible as expected. Likely going to swap some cards for card draw.vs Gruul Dinosaurshttps://dai.ly/x6xtuvqhttps://youtu.be/jQIpHnBir4kI used this build.2 Short Sword4 Valduk, Keeper of the Flame4 Tilonalli's Crown4 Swashbuckling4 See Red4 Champion of the Flame4 Warlord's Fury4 Thud22 Mountain4 Frenzied Rage4 Maniacal Rage
I thought the bird decks started with Kangee? It was just a control deck that has one Kangee as a finisher.
Replace Lightning Strike with Incinerate. They're both in the bulk bin, but Incinerate does the same thing as Lightning Strike + stops regen.Replace Skullcrack with Leyline of Punishment if you can afford it.
I played your deck in a few games. I was absolutely sure this deck would never draw the creatures, and lose because it had 0 removal. Unless you count Tilonalli's Crown.vs Izzet Control (Standard) Game 1 of 2 https://dai.ly/x6x6mxmvs Izzet Control (Standard) Game 2 of 2 https://dai.ly/x6x6mzsvs Mono U Merfolk (Standard) Game 1 of 2 https://dai.ly/x6x6nr9vs Mono U Merfolk (Standard) Game 2 of 2 https://dai.ly/x6x6nr8I used this build.2 Short Sword4 Valduk, Keeper of the Flame4 Tilonalli's Crown4 Swashbuckling4 See Red4 Champion of the Flame4 Warlord's Fury4 Thud22 Mountain4 Frenzied Rage4 Maniacal Rage
My problem with Emberwidle Augur is the ability is only on the upkeep. Likely this deck is just going to transform to the atypical burn deck. The only thing that's flexbile is the life gain hate Ferocidon vs Leyline and what to pick as graveyard hate.
I would have stayed with humans but had anthem effects to pump or more skullclamps. Where's your board wipes in case you have to reset?
Altar of the Brood gets hosed by Eldrazi auto reshuffles. This was made in a heavy Ghostly Prison style meta, and where Leyline of Sanctity wasn't everywhere. Now the combo is just too slow. The only thing I can see making this work is using Impact Tremors, as it doesn't target. I just didn't want to spend money :)
I've seen these before. These decks are for the 6 hour long FNM games with friends. THAT'S what the Reminisce is for. Also this looks like a budget Divining Top/Counterbalance deck.
Obvious suggestion is to test it. :)
I guess that could count. I stopped playing Treasure Hunt decks because of Leyline of Sanctity, Mindcrank decks don't target.
