yeah this is benjo i am running a slightly different deck now, im mainboarding snakeform since its another removal spell after a resolved snuffers and i also have trip nooses in the side because it helps stop stuff like demigod, gouger, colossus, etc.

This deck has pretty good match ups vs. other aggro decks... and spiteful visions i think will wreck kelpie/control decks...
And actually, ben had an interesting card choice: he's running Vess with Puppeteers in the side board... the vess is strong vs. aggro since it can tutor for a much needed mulldrift/shriekmaw, continue to discard opponent's hand, or reanimate all the creatures you killed up to that point... but puppeteers is super strong too since a puppeteer grabbing a shriekmaw or something is a pretty strong play as well...
And I might as well...
Haha, actually, ben was gonna play this deck too!
try a look at my version im still playing around with either pupeteer or liliana because i feel both are good in different ways but im leaning towards liliana
Essentially a mannequin deck... most builds i've seen so far have been straight blue/black, but I'm splashing white for crib swap for the difficult Chameleon/Oversoul match ups... plus, giving them a 1/1 creature isn't a big deal when you soul snuffers to clear the board of tokens...
i've also seen effective doran builds using wren's run vanquisher and treefolk harbinger; first turn harbinger, second turn vanquish, and third turn doran means you're swinging for six turn three, and 11 turn four... the changeling also help insure your vanquisher comes out early; anyway, just a thought
oh yeah, i saw a deck like this in one of the ptq top 8s.... it's pretty awesome because once doran hits, the bloom tender can immediately tap to bring finks into play: plus, we got most of these cards already! Only problem i see, though, is that finks is effectively a 2/2... but 2 life and a bear along with doran on turn 3 is still nothing to sneeze at;
haha, i guess so... i don't think this deck will work so well; i was just thinking it'd be funny to play an assload of removal with the scarblade
is the win condition bitter blossom?
Actually, i was looking on some forums earlier, and someone suggested mercy killing as a good addition to a quillspike deck... it's removal most of the time, or an assload of elf tokens if you manage to go off with the combo...
THis deck looks much tighter, i think; I especially like profane and crib swap in the build... only thing I might suggest is trying out one oona out... that other build used just one oona, and might be effective especially with so many board clearing effects... maybe one oona in the place of one crib swap?
OR, conversely, if I DID want to clear the board with hurly burly, i could mirrorweave tattermunge, and then hurly burly as a wrath effect...
haha, i didn't include hurly as a wrath of god so much as a cheap firespout: it's easy to kill bunches of tokens with it, and the majority of my guys will live. Actually, mirror weave is mostly in there for gouger: mirror weave the gouger, and all of a sudden you're swinging for 8 to 16 points of damage, and they can't block any of it!
is it crib swap, mirrorweave the token then hurly?
ic ic
or something like it, anyway
but yeah, i wanna play this: Creatures 4 Mulldrifter 3 River Kelpie 2 Shriekmaw 4 Soul Snuffers Instants 4 Cryptic Command 3 Makeshift Mannequin 1 Oona's Grace Legendary Creatures 1 Oona, Queen Of The Fae Sorceries 4 Raven's Crime 3 Thoughtseize Tribal Instants 4 Nameless Inversion Basic Lands 7 Island 5 Swamp Lands 4 Mutavault 2 Reflecting Pool 4 Secluded Glen 1 Springjack Pasture 4 Sunken Ruins
nah, it's next weekend... i think ben should play in both too; I just dunno if i can make it to both. I'll try to do irvine though... haha, the only question is whether I can afford the deck i end up wanting to play.
