Sacrifice question

So.. the question is, suppose my opponent have a Desecration Demon on the battlefield and i have a Bloodthrone Vampire and another creature that we will call it MOB.
When he's combat phase starts, the desecration demom effect activate and i target MOB, and in response can i activate Bloodthrone Vampire's effect and target MOB, therefore making the desecration demom tap and buffing my vampire ?

In a word: no. If you had a card that gave a bonus WHENEVER you sacrifice a creature, it would work, but not with a card where the sacrifice is a cost of its activation. For instance, you would get the benefits of Dragon Appeasement.
