Maelstrom Wanderer
Hello good afternoon
I have an odd question that i can't seem to find the rule. i am thinking of making a maelstrom wanderer commander.
If i have maelstrom wanderer as a commander everytime he costs plus :mana2: does it count towards the total mana cost so that the cascade would be :mana2: higher the mana cost?
Is the :mana2: considered as the cost or just as an aditional cost?
Best regards

it's an additional cost for casting your general, not the spells he cascades into. Basically you just play him like any other commander and the cascade is always free (unless something in play says otherwise).
He's seriously broken though, I don't get why they don't ban him. I'm running a deck using him and it's just over the top insane. If he didn't give haste to all creatures he would be ok, but the haste is nuts.

Relevant oracle ruling:
5/1/2009 A spell's converted mana cost is determined solely by the mana symbols printed in its upper right corner. If its mana cost includes {X}, take the chosen value of X into account. Ignore any alternative costs, additional costs, cost increases, or cost reductions.
