Is Mirran Crusader OP or balanced?
I'd like to see what people think of this card in standard. Personally I think Crusader is only OP in certain matchups. A deck with blue counter spells, or red burn spells can deal with him pretty easily, but agianst certian decks he is without a doubt game changing. He makes Black/Green, Mono Green, and Mono Black pretty damned hard to play. Sure Mono-Black has the other Crusader, but he deals infect damage, and doesn't exactly fit with deck playstyles as well.
The card is worth four mana without the protection, but add in the protection attributes, and its combos with swords, or destiny, and it's worth six mana.

I'm on the same boat as you mate. I'm running two in my mono-white deck (want more!!!) and by simply playing him and then attack on turn four with Bonds of Faith + Moment of Heroism results in a dangerous 12 damage with Lifelink... I've done it more than once. If you have him, consider giving him his favourite toys, Inquisitor's Flail and Silver-Inlaid Dagger/Butcher's Cleaver. Swinging for 20 (potentially with Lifelink) is just so much fun, expecially when they're tapped out.
In saying that it's good in certain matchups and bad in others goes for most powerful cards, really. An example is playing a Sun Titan. The 6/6 seems very powerful (especially with that epic ability) but when there's a Chancellor of the Tangle (6/7) on the other side, attacking doesn't seem that wise.
In general though, Mr. Crusader has won me just about 50% of my games with some equipment. All my friends wish to burn the poor guy.

He's hardly OP. There's tons of ways to deal with him right now.Unless you get him swinging with a War and Peace, he's fodder for half the decks in the Meta right now.
Nope, don't think he's OP or even slightly off balance.

I think the ez way to tell if he is op is if he is in every deck you face. While his abilities are great, he is hardly in any decks right now. Pro green/black isnt that great, the Paladin En Vec with pro red/black is way more dangerous imo, though not std right now.
Since most decks are running multiple colors and rarely green/black, i'd say there are many ways to deal. Even mono black can use a black sun's zenith on him or force the player to sac a creature. mono green may have no answer, but that is hardly an archetype being used much.
i think the mirran crusader is one of those cards that can be the centerpiece of a deck, but not so great that you have to squeeze him into any white deck.
