Most annoying cards

I hate annoying cards. They make me lose my temper more than almost anything can.

I think my pick for most annoying would be Thieve's Auction. It ruins your game basically no matter what deck you're playing.

What do you guys think is the most annoying card ever?

(And I think Shahrazad is a given...)

Yeah, but if we're talking Slivers then there's a whole bunch that could qualify for the most annoying....

Most frustrating card across all formats is wasteland. From getting waste-locked in EDH, to be mana-denied in legacy, I hate wasteland. It irks me

How can you possibly think that Thieve's Auction is annoying? If anything Howl of the Night Pack is the annoying one :)

hmmm, let me think

- Scullclamp
- most discard cards like Hymn to Tourach or Head Games in EDH
- wasteland, stripmine, the likes
- balance

Freed From the Real. There are way too many combos with it

Or how about half of the Azorius deck or any other thing that taps cards like Flood (even though its in two different decks of mine)

Djinn Illuminatus, also way too many combos

Mindbreak Trap

Mana Barbs

And of course there is nothing worse than hearing "Ill just tap three land, and I guess Ill play...Hold the Lines"

I dropped an Iona, Shield of Emeria during an 8 player game and called out a mono white deck that had been messing with me all game and everyone at the table got so angry they killed me off so the player could go back to playing the game. One player told me that "Your essentially saying 'Hey you playing one color, your not allowed to play the game anymore'" I get the feeling Iona pisses a lot of people off. That and Luminarch Assention in a game large enough where its ready to go at your next upkeep.

I've only played a handful of competitive decks, but the most annoying deck i've probably ever played against would be scepter chant deck.

In other words

Isochron Scepter and Orim's Chant

Although I might say that the most annoying card is Counterspell, because it's so easy to play and destroys even the best cards before they can do anything. Plus most blue controls have a bunch in them....

There are so many to choose from, but I have Top 5 List (in no particular order):

1. Skeletal Vampire (most annoying chump blocker ever)
2. Gifts Ungiven (No explanation necessary)
3. Astral Slide (Ugh...)
4. Quicken (bad things happen following it, plus card draw for one blue... I hate seeing it)
5. Fog (The centerpiece for perhaps the most annoying decks ever)

@smily: it could be worse. He could have Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir out as well.
@malloryyoungdmode: You forgot Force of Will. It's worse than counterspell.

@Soardfish: I think you got screwed on that one. Seems to me that getting the guy who's been messing with you all game is fair play. But yeah, things like that happen. Go bring a kill-everyone combo next time, see what happens. Turnabout is fair play, after all.

"Countered."

in an overrun deck the most freakin annoying card would have to be angle song especially if you just sacked your garruk to give your creatures +3 +3 and trample and they go off and play a freaking card like that..........

I would have to agree. there are plenty of annoying cards that can screw you over/wipe your field/destroy your creatures, but nothing's worse than the "I say no for 2 blue mana" counterspell is literally broken, and everyone who uses blue that's not playing type 2 uses them. At least in zendikar there are specific "no to creatures" and "no to spells" that limit how retarted blue can be. That's why I absolutely love pulling leyline of lifeforce in my opening hand in my mono green deck (comes out for free and the only thing they can do is bounce it in mono blue)

to be fair though, lightning bolt and other spells like it are BS too. 3 dmg for 1 red mana? overpowered much?

my biggest personal gripe at the moment however is mind funeral, yet another broken card... one blue, one black and one colorless for "mill your deck until you mill 4 lands." you get hit by 2 of those and it's really hard to come back from

I would say any card that you can play and you just win. It doesnt need to be supported by anything else, not part of a combo. Its just "Ill play ____, unless you have the perfect card right now. You lose"

I know that it doesnt fit my previous description that well, Darksteel Forge is incredibly cheap. Obviously its in an artifact deck, so for 9 mana you have a deck where (almost) nothing can possibly stop you

Same thing with Eldrazi Monument.

Or how about Spirit of Resistance, its not that hard to do. Plus they wont attack or block with those creatures, so outside of red or black its super hard to stop

I would go with Telepathy. 1st turn and I can see all your cards for the rest of the game unless you destroy this.

I never knew about this card until tonight. It is easily the cheapest and most annoying card that Ive ever seen. Its called Sen Triplets from Alara Reborn. I cant believe that they would even make a card like this. It makes me mad at Wizards of the Coast for even printing it

Going to throw my support behind Counter and Cancel. Pretty much everything else you can deal with. Even someone who drops elspeth's final can be dealt with by burn damage, but the ability to just say "No" to nearly everything in the game is just the most aggravating thing ever.

That and the Reveillark-Magus of the Disc-Karmic Guide combo. In a multiplayer game once that hits the table it just keeps wiping the field again and again.

Sen Triplets is ridiculously cheap, although you can still play things on your own turn so its not indestructible.

I am going to date myself here... but back when I first started playing (I started during Unlimited) I had a friend that would play Stasis like it was his job. Game grinds to a complete halt and basically he would end up winning because I would forfeit based on frustration.

I think any quick game enders / stoppers are annoying...

-Darksteel Colossus
-Platinum Angel
-Felidar Sovereign
-etc...

I've got to disagree there somewhat. Darksteel's easy to deal with and platinum is in fact the exact OPPOSITE of a game ender. Felidar sovereign you've got a point though, in vintage any of the X-life-you-win cards can be pretty annoying since there's just so many ways to get absurd amounts of life.

I'm also going to add vampire hexmage to this, especially if you want to use a planeswalker.

Non of these are game enders by any means, just make a better deck.
