MTG Vault Deck Challenges
The most open-ended challenge ever.
As some of you may know, I have a habit of building theme decks for my favorite songs, and I have a new project. The thing is, I'd like to see what others can come up with.
Here are the rules: Build whatever you want. Anything at all. Have your decks submitted by December 1st and anyone who's inerested can vote on them. The deck with the most thumbs up wins. The subject?
:manab:The Dawn of Battle:manab: by Manowar...
Dreadful Thunder, the storm's moving in
And Judgment day is calling
My soul has been healed by the power of steel
And the sound of glory
I will send into the ground all that are found
By the sign of the hammer falling
Yes, heathens will fall, I will strike down them all
Then you will know my calling
Bravery calls my name
In the sound of the wind in the night
My sword will drink blood
And I will fight
Yes I will fight
In the Dawn of Battle
I will rise up from the chaos, I will rise up from the grave
A brother to the darkness
A master to the slaves
I am the soul descendent of the fire and the rage
I was wrought upon the earth
Born to rule and battle wage
By the total domination of the world in my command
By the Air and the water
By the Fire and the land
I give no explanation, I was branded by the will
Bringer of Death and Destruction
To all that I now kill
Bravery calls my name
In the sound of the wind in the night
My sword will drink blood
And I will fight
Yes I will fight
In the Dawn of Battle
I long to be free
So I wait for a sign
I wait for a star
To fall from the sky
From the dust of sleep
A promise to keep
Then all who see shall believe
Deliver into my hand
The sword of the land
Let my journey begin
So all shall understand
That if I fall
I will live again...
I will rise up from the chaos, I will rise up from the grave
A brother to the darkness
A master to the slaves
I give no explanation, I was branded by the will
To bring of Death and Destruction
To all that I now kill
Bravery calls my name
In the sound of the wind in the night
My sword will drink blood
And I will fight
Yes I will fight
In the Dawn of Battle

Yup. That's most of the reason I have a theme deck for it and the entire reason I issued this challenge.

Here is my entry for this competition.

wow. it would be so easy to go crazy with those kinds of lyrics. this has nothing to do with mtg, but it appears that you may also be into epic metal roughneck. is this true?

As long as the word 'metal' can be used, I'm there. I'm a big fan of Kamelot, Finntroll and (as you've seen) Manowar, but I'd mostly consider myself an Old School Metalhead (Testament, Accept, Brocas Helm, Vio-Lence, etc).

It is funny as a lot of people who plays this game loves metal. And if you haven't already noticed (on my reply to your giant deck thing) I like melodic death metal (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth). I also like good old heavy metal (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden), thrash metal (Mostly Metallica and Anthrax), Death Metal (Death and Morbid Angel), Black Metal (Yes I do like it even though I like Melodic Death Metal, Gorgoroth and Darkthrone is the Black Metal bands I listen to). I also like symphonic/power metal (Dragonforce, Hammerfall and Nightwish)
So I am one of those metal heads too.
And just now I realize how much text I actually wrote... well I wont erase it!
Edit:
Glad you liked my idea.

So you pretty much just made a list of my favorite bands. Add in Pantera and Hatebreed and we could just about get married. HA! I'm thinking about selling everything I own other than my guitars and moving to Europe or Brazil to play metal. America SUCKS!
Edit:
I liked your deck so much, I rebuilt MY theme deck and modeled it after yours.

Sweet action. (And thank you, sir. You're none too shabby yourself...) I almost lost my mind when I saw Accept on Brutal Legend.

I just figured I'd post my original theme deck. In my opinion (for whatever THAT'S worth), every single one of you beat the tits off of it.
