Deck Challenge: Budget decks!
Myself and a group of friends are hoping to be running an under £10 (I know this is an American site, but as far as I can tell there is no English version) tournament in the near future and although the majority of us have been playing long enough to create our own decks. We have a few newbies that have no idea
So what I'm asking for is for you guys to create a few cheap decks they can use. Which will hopefully get them interested in playing magic more often and wanting to create their own decks.
Cheers guys:)

What format you going to play? (Standard, legacy?) And do we need to include the cost of basic lands?
Also I just checked, £1 = $1,57801 (about)
So your challenge is to make a deck under $16 (rounded it up)

I know you said 16 dollar limit according to the calculated on the site this deck is 25 dollars. The only thing that makes it over the budget is the mox opal, but if you have one to spare then this deck is fun and easy to play.

on the other hand here is a deck quotes at under 3 dollars. it is pretty solid for a newer player, basic concept lifelink into 1/1 counters and swing for the fence.
this deck has been troublesome for people who sit and wait to build up there 6 and 7 drop beasts. i would have to say it is pretty fun for multi player and one on one. simply because 1 you can get creatures out on the board quick and 2 your not really seen as a big threat right away. and 3rd the longer the game goes the harder it is to kill you unless someone pops a board sweeper out.

Goblin Deck, if you take out the Shrines of Burning Rage and put in a lightning bolt instead or something like that you might hit your target price. I usually win turn 4-6 with this one.

My quest for Argentum Armor deck, not tested but looks strong:

Infect deck. Have not tested it yet tho, still waiting on order. I"m not expecting much from this one.

Here's a goblin deck I came up with recently.. It's standard and I run a variation of it that works quite well.. If you want to experiment and deckbuild then your best bet for a cheap and effective deck should be a Red deck. This is mostly because red cards work well with other red cards and don't use the conventionally expensive cards that most tourney level decks use..

Thanks so much guys, the replies have been awesome.
And I think we'll be playing either extended or modern. Not sure yet, but it doesn't really matter too much.
Keep it up:)

It's a general beat down :manab:/:manag:. According to mtgvault, you could actually get 2 of these decks for your target price. Not quite tested yet:o, but looks good.

Budget decks are all I ever make. Cards cost too much so I just make cheap ones on this site.
These are under $10 but I'm sure with shipping they will be around $15.

Not only is this deck cheap, but it's made of nothing but commons, so the components to build it are easy finds. In addition, it's a pretty straight-forward "pick up and play" design that has some surprising punch. I designed it to attract new players to this game we all love =]
