White Human Deck
I'm building a little casual deck with White human creatures I have laying around. Just scraps that I haven't used. I need help putting a deck around them. This will be for casual play only, so no cards that cost $40.

I want to base it around gaining counters and keeping them from using artifacts. My friend plays with a heavy artifact deck, with the Empires set, so this is really just to kill that deck. Thanks.

One great way to add a lord effect to any human deck would be Adaptive Automaton, since you can name him as a human. He's pretty cheap too, at around 3 bucks.

The deck is completely unfocused. Where are these Counters of which you speak? Oh, I see, they are all on your Creatures.

In my opinion, these cards are sub-par, because they only give Counters to themselves and not your other Creatures. Sharing is caring. Out of the three of them, Champion of the Parish is probably the best, because he gains Counters when a Human enters the Battlefield. The other two cards rely on your Creatures dying instead, and if your Creatures are dying a lot in Standard then you've probably lost the game.

These cards are strictly better. Imagine you don't get a Champion of the Parish out until Turn four (4). If your Turn two (2) play is Honor of the Pure, and your Turn three (3) play is Adaptive Automaton, then Champion of the Parish comes out as a one Mana (:mana1:) Cost for a 3/3 Creature. However, if your Turn two (2) play is Unruly Mob, and your Turn three (3) play is Elder Cathar, then Champion of the Parish comes out on Turn four (4) as a one Mana (:mana1:) Cost for a 1/1 Creature.
Plus, with those two out, Mikaeus, the Lunarch is not a 0/0 Creature but a 2/2 Creature, so even if you remove all his Counters he will still survive. And he gives his Counters freely to everyone.

Why have First Strike when you could have Double Strike instead?

Village Bell-Ringer is only good against certain decks, and I doubt your friend's Artifact deck is one of them. You should probably sideboard them. If you need a response to your friend's threats, why not play actual removal spells like Oblivion Ring and Fiend Hunter instead? In fact, I'm surprised to see you playing a White Mana (:manaw:) deck without Oblivion Ring, which is possibly the best card in that color. Another good removal option is Dismember, as long as you're comfortable with losing 4 Life.

These are some other Human cards you might want to consider adding to your deck. Gideon Jura is probably the most expensive one, but I think he's worth it.

you got awfully close to judging the deck as though I had put any time into it. This was just the start. I'm not a complete idiot. I need one instant or enchantment card to finish it.... Smite the Monstrous? Bonds of Faith is a +2/+2 but nothing else. Arrest? Divine Offering?

Bonds of Faith is so much more than a +2/+2. It doubles as a Pacifism if your Opponent has no Human cards on the Battlefield. Arrest isn't as good, because you can only play it on Creatures your Opponent Controls. Smite the Monstrous is unnecessary if you have Oblivion Ring and Fiend Hunter for removal. Divine Offering is okay against your friend's Artifact deck, but I prefer the card at the end of this post because of its extra utility against Enchantments, and the fact that it Exiles Artifacts or Enchantments instead of simply destroying them.
As for judging your deck, maybe I did, but mostly I was trying to explain my suggestions to you so that you would consider them over the cards you had picked first. My original White Mana (:manaw:) deck didn't have any Honor of the Pure or Oblivion Ring either, and I ran Divine Reckoning, Selfless Cathar, and Unruly Mob to try to make use of Counters in my deck. Eventually I switched to a token strategy, but there is nothing wrong with Counters as long as everyone gets them.
Also, considering you are only playing this deck against your friend's Artifact deck (so far), maybe you'd like to look into getting this card instead:
