Puresteel - Opinions please!
Hello everyone, I want to try and tune in a Puresteel deck into competitiveness, so I'm looking for any suggestions/opinions.
This is the list I have so far:
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=222261
Most my questions would be:
Does it sound better to have 1 Mox to pull with a trinket mage if necessary; or to have 3 Mox to have them as a more "reliable" source of mana.
Would 1 Basilisk collar be good enough? Or are 2 of them alright? I wanted to increase the number to make my Trinket mages "relevant" after getting the first one out. (Since all there is after that are the flayer husks and one shield)
Do 2 Gideon/2 Venser sound like a good Planeswalker count? I really love Gideon to withstand most aggro decks; and I can only Imagine the ridiculous power of Venser with a living equipment/puresteel out, free chump blockers and card draw!
I honestly would like to add more control into this deck (Not sure if by removal, or by counters) but I have a hard time finding anything I want to cut from the list.
Also, Argent Sphinx vs Etched Warrior?
I chose Argent because I feel the 4/3 flyer can be more relevant even if for whatever reason we don't have a sword (or metalcraft) out.
Although I suppose Metalcraft would be slightly harder to achieve I doubt it'd be an issue, and I personally like better the Sphinx' evasion mechanism than protection from all colors.
Anyways, let me know what you think!

I would ditch the mortarpods, perhaps replace them with Spellskite and/or Hovermyr.

i've fought with a puresteel deck and its quite a formidable one
i would suggest the following:
1. replace the island with a plains - basically your dual lands will provide you with the blue mana you need
2. have a set of flayer husk - im telling you this card is great with puresteel
3. remove argent sphinx and replace it with skinwing, i suggest put 2
4. put 2 or even only 1 mox opal - it may put you in a disadvantage if you have too many, your trinket mage can just easily get it for you if you need it
5. have 4 dispatches- its actually pretty easy to achieve metal craft with this deck
6. have sun titan, depends on your preference how many you want in - it really is a monster for this deck as it can return all your permanents on your graveyard
7. 2 accorder shield is actually cool
8. dont really need the plainswalkers
9. have 3 sword of feast and famine & 2 sword of body and mind
10. keep the mortapods and basilisk collars - its the main removals of this deck
11. get phyrexian metamorph - simply because he can copy all your keycards
12. i also agree with seras, add spellkite
the main thing about this deck is its speed, just focus on speed and how to fully utilize puresteel early game!
puresteel gives you great card advantage early game and with it, more options on how to defeat your opponent... and i know it's weak to removals but all you need to do is to get the right timing to play him, sword of feast and famine, swift boots & spellkite can also save him from removals
i hope i helped you with this...
EDIT: just read your introduction... if you really want a slow puresteel deck then you can just disregard most of my suggestions but in my opinion, puresteel is not for slow decks...
