UW Splicers into Blighsteel Colossus
I made this deck based on Shape Anew and using Blade Splicer to provide the artifact to sacrifice, then cascade into Blightsteel Colossus.
It did ok in FNM, so I'm trying to beef it up a little, any suggestions?
Shape Anew-Splicer
If you like Precursor Golem or another main beat stick, please explain why.

The problem I am finding personally with the version of the deck you're running is that it seems it would be inconsistant at pulling out that Blightsteel early game.
Reckless Scholar in my personal opinion doesn't have much place in the deck. Yes you can use it to discard and cycle a Blightsteel back into your library... but only running 2 in the deck makes it inconsistant to pull.
The card that I would run, which I have in my version of this deck is See Beyond. Not only does it give you a two-draw, you can just shuffle the Blightsteel into your library without revealing you even had it in your hand.
Venser is a nice card, however I don't see him being much use in this deck at all. Sure an extra Golem token can be nice, but not worth playing a 5 drop in my eyes.
Here's a link if you'd like to crosscheck my deck of the same nature: Shape the Blightsteel

THANKS SO MUCH! That's what I was looking for. I'm not sure why I could't find a card with that ability.
In the FNM I brought it to, the inconsistency was getting a Shape Anew or turn 1 or 2 win decks like Glistener Elf and Memnite. I played one game with a Blightsteel Colossus in hand from the start, and because I have 2, was able to pull it off. Besides, the splicers are very powerful on there own. Most times I play 1 or 2, it gives me board advantage.
I'm not sure how Venser, the Sojourner will do. I never played Jace Beleren when I had him in the deck, because he was a 1 of.

My splicers deck uses both Shape Anew and Precursor Golem. It loses to doom blade, and as said before it is very inconsistent (like Russian Roulette Wheel) . However it is fun to play.

Precursor Golem's only saving grace is Indomitable Archangel. I would run 4, and step up to 2 Venser, the Sojourner. Not only will he let you flicker the angel out so you can target your artifacts, he'll get you an unblockable turn and allow you to make more golems by flickering out your splicers. I run him in my myr deck for that purpose (well, to flicker Myr Battlesphere, same concept). Also, from experience running combo decks, I'd toss in a few Spell Pierce or Gitaxian Probe. It lets you know if you can combo out and usually wreck control who only leave enough mana open for 1 counter. A sideboard is almost necessary for these kinds of decks (very much like Mass Polymorph decks, so you can switch out your control cards when you need more draw and shuffle and so on. The biggest problem I run into isn't so much people countering Shape Anew, it was more of having Blightsteel Colossus either exiled or bounced to my hand. I'd honestly run a few Deprives in the sideboard, especially after they see how your deck works.

I'm really not a fan of Precursor Golem. I noticed I usually lose to very fast decks and infect. Glistener Elf recks me. In my mind, the worst thing about Precursor Golem is Grim Affliction. Also, all other golems are affected by your buffs or their 'hexes'. I guess if you want a bomb that you might be able to cast, and instantly gives metalcraft, that one's for you.
