Proliferate the Sickness

The premise is simple - stick your opponent with a poison counter and sit back and proliferate to 10.

Well, first I would be running 4 Drowned Catacomb if you have all 4. Also, Darkslick Shores just to make the mana base easier to play out. Not seeing enough Proliferate cards to really ramp up the poison counters fast enough for the deck to be 100% viable however. Maybe add in Throne of Geth with Core Prowler. Makes for decent proliferation fairly quickly. Just some ideas :)

I would include 4 of Drowned Catacombs and Darkslick Shores if I had, but I don't. As I acquire them, they will be added as well. Creeping Tar Pit is another land on the wish list, more as its ability to be a blocker than as an offensive creature, since it's doing damage rather than poison.

My first build of this deck included Throne of Geth instead of Contagion Clasp but I found it only worked really well when I had 2+ Corpse Cur to cycle - sac one, proliferate; cast the other and return the first to my hand, then repeat. Otherwise they weren't enough artifacts to warrant it.

The other draw for the Contagion Clasp is that it's a 2 cost removal with the -1/-1 counter as it enters the battlefield.

Well, another option is running the Spine of Ish Sah with the Throne of Geth but that can get semi-mana-expensive... lol

That would work but for 7 mana you can nearly use a pair of Contagion Clasps and proliferate twice. You'd also run the risk of an ill-timed Mana Leak or Spell Pierce to put the combo to an end.

Oh I understand that concept all too well... lol... Doesn't mean it cannot be effected when used with 9 Mana. I personally run Sphere of the Suns for mana ramping in blue/black. Works well when you proliferate a lot anyways. LoL

Sphere of the Suns would work in the deck regardless, either to fuel the Contagion Clasp or to keep recasting Spine of Ish Sah.

Changed the deck around a bit: +4 Tumble Magnet, -3 Ichor Rats, -1 Swamp.

After a few rounds, it appears to play pretty well.
