Lockout Control

This competition is quite simple, I challenge you all to come up with a control deck that aims to lock the opponent out of the game. It's a simple task to start up ye olden prison decks, but that's where the challenge part of all this comes into play; the colour blue is not allowed in this challenge.

Now, I've made many a deck, most of them control, but very rarely do I see this breed even amongst my own works. It's an incredibly fun way to play, and I seriously encourage it if you've not tried yet.

As for examples, I think I'll use my Poxtraction, and my current pet project.

:manaw:/:manab: poxtraction, I note; this is a lockOUT deck, not lockdown or prison.

Ah, my current MtG baby, this is a toolbox build that I'm working on. It's the next logical step for me in :manaw:/:manab:, it shall be beautiful! Eventually...

Do you REALLY want to give me this kind of a challenge? :D

Let's not forgot what happened last time...

That's half the reason actually :D
Your design and Seth's suggestions are how I devised the current state of my countertop braids, so reverse engineering is always encouraged with me.

I'd like to submit a deck for this challenge, but before I do I'd like to know what the definition of a prison deck is. As far as I understand it's a deck that prevents the opponent from doing anything while you take your sweet time to kill him. Now if I'm rite, a land destruction deck (when working properly) does exactly that because an opponent without lands is prevented from doing anything :p

Not necessarily. A Prison deck traps the opponent. They can play whatever they want, but they then can't DO anything with any of it. In fact, some of the best Prison decks make it so that the more the opponent plays and/or tries to do, the worse they make it for themselves.

No weeping here, but the guy you're playing against might

Well, I guess land destruction would kind of fall under the banner of lockouts. Prison/Lockout/Lockdown decks are in fact about shutting the opponent out of a game, but usually more in the manner as described by surewhynot than land destruction.
Again I say, I personally see it falling under the banner of a lockout, just it's rather unusual to think about land destruction that way.

I like to look at things in a different way :p

Here's an attempt at a lockdown deck (that's not Land Destruction) that I'd like constructive criticism on:

Play creatures, I dare you

It uses Light of Day and Darkest Hour to prevent anyone from attacking and cards like Stronghold Discipline, Blood Seeker and the soon to be released Suture Priest to make the opponent loose life for playing / having creatures and Forbidden Orchard give that opponent creatures :)

DedWards, your deck is interesting, unique, and I'm totally going to make a deck for suture priest sometime because of it.

Gold star!

Thanks :) I try to "think outside the box" with my decks (I find too many people being too serious with their decks, MTG is just a game).

This "gold star" stuff is new, any reason?

You certainly do well at making decks outside the box, I think you're builds are some of the most unique I've ever seen, and I've never seen you make a deck that was bad.

The gold star is like in pre-school lol, you do well, and you get a sticker to show off to your classmates, boasting above them as you, master of all, sit upon your stickered throne!
