Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer EDH
Some of my friends are trying to talk me in to making an EDH deck. They said if I can build the deck they will buy me the general.
So obviously its going to be blue and white if my general is Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer.
I've never personally made an EDH deck so I don't really know what to put in it I suppose.

That's an aweful general man. If they want to get you into EDH the least they can do is suggest a good general.
In the same colors I would suggest: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV
In Bant colors: Jenara, Asura of War
the addition of green is well worth it, it's far easier to develop your land base if you play green.
Both generals are cheap (maybe not free like Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer, but cheap enough) so if they want to buy you a general suggest you want to play one of those.

I've actually never seen Grand Arbiter Augustin IV that would be pretty awesome. Have any good tips of what kind of cards I would put in the deck though?

Well, it's not EDH, but if you want any idea on a decent U/W Gwafa deck, this is one I made:

When building an EDH deck it's best to think in percentages. You have 100 cards so percentages are easy to track. Before you start building write down categories you want to include and a target percentage.
Land should be at 40%
Other example categories can be
Utility creatures (Solemn Simulacrum, Court Hussar, Raven Familiar)
Card Draw (Consecrated Sphinx, Future Sight, Concentrate, Tidings)
Denial (Desertion, Spelljack, Draining Whelk, Overwhelming Intellect, ...)
Board Sweep (Akroma's Vengeance, Oblivion Stone, Wrath of God, Austere Command, Planar Cleansing)
Life gain (Beacon of Immortality)
Victory Conditions (Akroma, Angel of Wrath...)
Theme (Rhystic Study <- works wonders with Grand Arbiter)
Steal Stuff (treachery, Control Magic, confiscate...)
...
If you think like this and research cards that fit these categories it will be easier to balance your deck.

As long as you are sticking with those colours something you can do which my friend to my annoyance figured out with his grand arbiter deck is that he could use a lot of exile, copy, revival, and bounce. With that in mind he build a solid deck that is a true right arse, you could try to do something similar as a starting point. The only thing to worry about is to never forget about the fatties all EDH decks need their fatties to get in the final blows, unless of course you plan on milling but U/W isn't exactly good for that now is it :)

Alternatively you could work in a combo kill like Mind over Matter + Temple Bell + have an Eldrazi in the deck.
