Kiln Fiend colors?

Though I've seen them many times, I've recently decided to try my hand at a Kiln Fiend deck. It's nothing snazzy, but here it is:

The challenge I throw out there is, what is the best color combo for a kiln fiend deck? There are tons of possibilities: B for destroy, U for control (I love the idea of counterspells buffing kiln-fiend), green for stompy trample, or even straight red, as I did. Here are the parameters of the challenge:

1) keep it T2.
2) Try submitting more than one deck
3) Special points for doing something new and unusual--we don't get on this site to see the same decks we've all already seen.

Have fun!

That's strange, how is it useful that Kiln Fiend's power goes up during your opponents turn? If you use him as a blocker he dies so I don't see much benefit.

It works !!!

i've had games were they'd just trow a removals in my turn like yesterday they trew a go for the troath, and or in another game i played bull bush and got countered and i would just mana leak them, it just happens ! trust me.

the deck is fun and that is the reason i use it, but lately i have been playing more with http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=144854

Soul's fire would be one that comes to mind, but fling or Brion Stoutarm could come in handy in a pinch.

I like to splash blue with Kiln Fiend, as it allows the deck to also run Wee Dragonauts. Redundancy is good! I would agree with Seth that it doesn't make sense to add blue for defense. However, I do like using it for card- draw / manipulation. Additionally, blue has two good 'free' spells in Frantic Search and Snap; these are good for packing more damage into a shorter span of time.

I've had a R/U Kiln Fiend deck for a while, but it's not T2, so I won't bother posting it. I just wanted to drop in my two cents.

Here's one I made a rather long time ago :) Uses Distortion Strike and other Unblockable beefies to make Kiln Fiend unstoppable. Oh and I'm not 100% sure on the rules for T2, but I'm sure this isn't "that" far off lol...

I forgot it had to be T2, but here are two decks I thought up.

Here's my more practical one. It's Blue/Red. Basic strategy, but fun to do.

Here's a deck idea that I made when I was building the other. It was a little more...interesting. All colors. The combo is quite fun if pulled off.

I may make both of these just to see how well they do. Tell me what you guys think.

Take it easy cats,

I recently made a Kiln Fiend / Dragonauts deck to try out Pauper format (mostly just to stop myself spending too much money on cards). I'm in the middle of ordering the cards, so I haven't playtested it yet:

I haven't looked at too many other kiln fiend decks, so I'm not sure how unusual it is. Cards that synergize especially well with Kiln Fiend's effect are Distortion Strike (rebound), Reckless Charge (flashback), and Manamorphose (free trigger at no card or mana cost).

I really wanted to put in some wacky card with an off-color kicker or something just for surprising plays with Manamorphose, but I couldn't find any good candidates at common.

As for the colours, I chose RU partly because of Dragonauts and partly because it's fun to play. Those are also the two colours that emphasize instants, which is obviously handy.
