Deck Challange: Random Card

Ok so im new to this site. I signed up yesterday, so I decided to do a challange because I think its cool and a really great Idea. So how do you do this challange you ask? Well first you have to go to the gatherer.

Ok so on top of the page there is a Random card link just click that link and the first Rare card is the card you make your deck out of. After you post the card you have recieved you have 1 day to make a deck out of that card...Have fun and good luck.

The card I recieved was Blood Moon. I will post a deck either later today or tommorow.

My first card was Ifh-Biff Efreet. At first I was excited, as I thought it was Serendib Efreet. Then, I was crushed at being stuck with Ifh-Biff. But I started working with it, and I ended up with a deck I think could be a lot of fun.

So I started making this deck around Blood Moon and found out how cool of a unique mono red control deck that it started turning out to be. So this is the deck that I made and I will actually make it on paper cause it looks fun and im gonna enjoy playing it.

Oh sorry didn't see that.

EDIT: Oh shit I got Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper. I don't think i will do this challenge with such a unplayable card.

OOOH, Lifeline. Somehow I hadn't heard of this absolute GEM of a card -- give me a day to brainstorm some ideas for a deck, I'll post it up as soon as i get something together.

Yea im gonna take out Manabarbs to put in War's Toll. Its a better fit since they wont take much damage with manabarbs when all there lands are tapped. Thanks for the insight. and thanks for taking interest in the challange.

Lol yea that card isnt the greatest card but thats the point of this challange is to take cards that you usually would never make decks with and make a deck with them. So im sure there is something you can do with it. Cant wait to see what you do.

Thats a common card, your supposed to pick the first rare or mythic rare you get. Thanks for taking the challange. So see what rare card you get.

Well, I suppose Scarblade Elite wasn't such a bad card after all. The deck is primarily an assassin deck. I tried to get some cards that would help me kill off my own creatures and benefit from it.

I'm fairly new to MTG, and with that being said, I'm a bit lacking in the resources department :eek: If anybody could help me out by sending a few links, that would be much appreciated :D

After checking out this challenge, I thought that seeing as I didn't know much to begin with and what color I should build a deck from, being given a base structure with the random card might be a good opportunity :)

Devout Lightcaster is the card, btw :rolleyes:

Hey thanks for the post guys that sliver/Ally deck just looks brutal, I would not want to be on the receiving end of that.

And as for resources go there is alot out there. For me when I decide to build a deck I look for the theme basicly what I want to do with that deck. There are alot of differnt themes that you could do out there. I play almost any theme. When I build a deck I use the gatherer to build a deck and playtest it. Its a great sight and it shows you all the cards assiciated with the key words in the text of the cards or if your going to do tribal it shows you all the creatrures associated with that creature. Hope that helps and if you have any questions on something specific just send me a message man and I will help you as much as I can.

This sounds fun!!!

i went on and on and on and the first rare i got was Tidal Kraken. i am now building a deck!

Done! the theme of the deck is to build up tons of mana to bust out the kraken. if you want, you can template this deck and replace the tidal kraken with, say, an Emrakul or two? hehe...

I wasn't aware ravenous rats were a rare... I believe that they are commons and thus unable to be used for this.
