deck challenge: all star cards

make a deck of any color combination, mono, 5 color, etc

all cards must be cards that have made an appearance in at least 5 different editions, with the exception of basic lands, you can used named lands only if your deck is 5 color.

reprints count, but a functional renaming doesnt.

for example diabolic tutor and demonic tutor does not count. because the mana costs are different

hum...any way to find a list of said 'all star' cards? none of the search engines i've used for magic allow to filter for something like that.

seems like the main challenge here will be the hours spent looking for cards that qualify, not the deck building.

its not that hard dont think of the search terms in terms of finding the edition.

think of the theme rather.

say you want a skeleton search for the subtype
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&subtype=+[%22Skeleton%22]

you see the only eligable creature is drudge. so then you want more black
search for horror, vampire etc

horror the most ever printed was in 3 editions

vampire i got Sengir Vampire

just for kicks specter, i found:

Abyssal Specter

Hypnotic Specter

did all these searches in about 2 min

you know what i will modify the rules,

All creatures and enchantments must be all star. everything else sorc, instant can be what ever. you can use lands of your choice too

bonus points if you spells and lands have been reprinted at least 3 times

well your link got broken but i don't see how doing a search on the skeleton type returns drudge as the only eligible creature.

well when you use magics search filters you see all the editions it was released under, just doing a quick glance through you see the only skeleton that was printed 5 times or more was drudge.

im saying that you need to search by sub type cuz it filters your results to a more manageable sample.
