MTG Vault Deck Challenges
Challenge: Blue/Black Control...I guess...
Okay guys, I've got another one for you. I'm wanting to finally make a halfway decent deck that can compete for once. I ended up trading for some blue/black stuff and here's what I got.
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=126514
The idea is for them to not have anything on the field and keep swinging for unblockable hits with invisimancer and tarpit with sword of body and mind on them but I'm not sure how to make it better. I'd love it if anyone gave me suggestions for the deck or post a deck idea of your own using similar cards. Please and thanks :D

This isn't really a challenge... but...
I notice that many of your creatures have abilities that activate when they come into play, or when an opponent's creatures do. What about some blue cards that bounce creatures back to the hand, like unsummon? Use it on yours or your opponents. You can get multiple uses out of your Skinrender this way. Bounce your own creatures after defending so that they aren't destroyed, or do the same for the attacking creature.

The only challenge it poses is to make a good blue/black control deck for me with some of the cards I had in my example is all. I like your idea of including some bouncing effects though, I might have to add that in.

This is my latest and greatest deck, with cards I actually own. It is based around Venser, the Sojourner, and is all about Come-Into-Play abilities and bouncing creatures, especially with Venser's +2 ability.
So, maybe it will give you some ideas. I found a loophole with the Precursor Golem: It only copies instants and sorceries. That means, with Kor Skyfisher or Venser, I can bounce Precursor Golem, and only one of the copies, generating more and more golems! However, that doesn't sound like a Blue/Black strategy, unless you need something to sacrifice... and if so, it's kinda expensive just to ditch.
I'd recommend Kor Skyfisher (possibly my favorite card, strong, cheap, flying, bad-ability that can be turned around), 'cept that it is white. But Blue is made for bouncing, like Unsummon. A new one I like is AEther Tradewinds. (It actually has the AE as one letter.) It is a 3 mana instant that bounces an opponent's permanent and one of yours. Even if they have no creatures out, you can bounce on of their lands.
Anyways, what do you think?

I really wanted to make a blue/white deck but my friend bought a JtMS off my other friend for $80 right when he pulled it and now he's trying to make a super-friends deck as he has a Jace, Gideon, and Venser meaning now he actually needs his venser so I have no means of getting one.

Take out the Invisimancers... They are not good cards.

Sorry, that post wasn't very helpful, so I'll try harder this time... lol.
First thing I really see, is that you don't have a bomb in the deck. You should have at least 2 or 3 creatures to win the game. I would suggest either Grave Titan, Frost Titan (probably last choice), or Wurmcoil Engine. Also a good card for the deck could be Mimic Vat. I've been suggesting this card to alot of people lately. I've found that it can be extremely helpful. So you Doom blade their Baneslayer, and now they have to worry about you bringing one out every turn... Plus the Vat is awesome when you have a Skinrender or Grave Titan under it... Also, Jace Beleren isn't all that expencive. He should be in here. Not only does he draw you cards, it also keeps JTMS off the board...
Here are some of the changes I would make:
-3 Royal Assassin (Not a very good card)
-3 Neurok Invisimancer (Who cares if your creature is unblockable if he has no creatures to block with anyways...)
-2 Foresee (too expencive)
-2 Cancel (too expencive)
+2 Grave Titan
+1 Wurmcoil Engine
+3 Mimic Vat
+2 Jace Beleren
+2 Negate (splitting cancel with Negate should be better than 4 cancels)
I'm kinda on the fence with Wall of Frost. It almost seems like a dead card. You may be better off with Consuming Vapors. That would take some play testing to see which is better in your metta.
I hope this helps, and gives you some ideas. I have a U/B control deck similar, and it is fun to play.

Well shoot, I would most certainly have almost every card you suggested in here but sadly I don't know anyone with a grave titan, frost titan, etc. and I started playing magic during zendikar so I don't have much to trade for said $30 Grave, $15 Frost, etc. I'm very limited as to what I can use

Well Sphinx of Jwar Isle isn't all that expensive, and he still works as a good beater... You could try him. Carnifex Demon is cheap, and he could work to. Even Sphinx of Lost Truths would work. I think you need a couple copies of some finisher.

Yeah, I like Sphinx of Jwar Isle's ability too. I'll keep a look out for him.
