Deck Challenge: Femine Deck
As being the only girl at my local fnm tournaments, I'm surrounded by "masculinity" in the people and the decks. But I'm wanting to see if there's any girlie decks out there! so the challenge is:
:o Make a deck that a girl would like to play
:p Cute critters, pretty people, easy and powerful
:p Use cards that are legal in Standard
Good luck~:o

I just have to comment: I used to be the only woman who played tournaments consistently in our area and rarely have I ever played "cute" decks. My main deck is mono-green beatdown (baloths and wurms, RAWR) and my favorite casual deck is Tribal Insects. On top of that, the very first deck I played after a long hiatus from Magic? Golgari Sac engine based around Nantuko Husk.
Hmm... insects and green beats... I think I'm seeing a theme with my decks...
The only reason I mention this is that you should be careful when asking for a "feminine" tournament deck. I know one woman who plays with a nasty Red Deck Wins variant and a GUY whose favorite deck was B/U Faeries. ^.~
EDIT: That being said... I'm putting together a deck. LOL

Okay, I might have a slight issue with this challenge. It might be the fact that you said Standard only and the current Standard is mainly mean, ugly, metallic creatures. (twinklepires don't count in the slightest, they need to be ignored) Now, I'm not here to put down the challenge, but you made it *kind of* hard to make a different, unique feminine deck by putting that single constraint upon it.
After that spiel, I'll make the attempt at this and to make it singularly original. :)

Here's my take on your request! :D I like it so much, I might build it myself! Although, not having the Sword of Body and Mind, those will likely get replaced if I attempt it.

I just wanted to follow up on this here statement and note that my decks aren't girly either. They're just decks built to kill and maim. :] I play for fun of course, but I'm not going to base my deck around ascetics. Being the only chick at fnm is very interesting and entertaining for me. I am pretty sure the first time I played (March) a lot of the guys questioned whether or not I was real...and strangely enough they still do!
My decks are based on mana acceleration and beat downs...sort of. My blue black deck as various elements to it that I can't describe as separate, nor coercive.

haha half the people i know who play magic are girls.
i know magic tends to be a man-centric game but really? is there that much of a shortage of women?
*shrug* i'm teaching my girlfriend to play at the moment. fun times.
