Create Your own Card Contest - Future Sight
Contests seem pretty popular nowadays, so I wanted to do something different. For my challenge, take one of the ablitties from a "future" card in the Time Spiral Block and implement it into a brand-new card. Bonus points are given for anyone who can then implement that card into a deck. The card should be able to balance into a type 2 tournament.
Cards will be judged on:
Use of the stated ablitty
Creativity
Balance
Contest ends in two weeks on the 15th
List of Ablitties in Future Cards:
Aura Swap: Exchange this Aura with an Aura card in your hand.
Grandeur: Only appears on a Legendary card that allows you to discard the same legendary card from your hand for a special effect.
Gravestorm: When you cast this spell, copy it for each permanent put into a graveyard this turn. You may choose new targets for the copies.
Fortify: Attach to target land you control. Fortify only as a sorcery. This card enters the battlefield unattached and stays on the battlefield if the land leaves.
Delve: You may exile any number of cards from your graveyard as you cast this spell. It costs :mana1: less to cast for each card exiled this way.
Transfigure: Sacrifice this creature; Search your library for a creature card with the same converted mana cost as this creature and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. Transfigure only as a sorcery.
Frenzy 1: Whenever a creature attacks and isn't blocked, it gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
Slivercycling: Discard this card: Search your library for a Sliver card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library
Absorb 1: If a source would deal damage to a creature, prevent 1 of that damage.
Fateseal 1: To fateseal 1, its controller looks at the top card of an opponent's library, then he or she may put that card on the bottom of that library.
Poisonous 1: Whenever it deals combat damage to a player, that player gets one poison counter. A player with ten or more poison counters loses the game.

Well for one thing.... poison wasnt really a new ability they just kinda gave it a second coming. I may post up a deck and card sometime but delve seems to be the most playable, especially seeing tombstalker.... But my favorite ability is transfigure and i really hope it is redone in a (near) future set.

Absorb is my faviorte because if every creature on your side of the field had absorb, you could play cards like Elvish Piper without fear of them being hurt. I'd also like to see Frenzy in an unblockable deck.

Steamflogger Line Worker
Creature - Goblin Rigger, P/T 1/2
Tap: Assemble a 0/1 Contraption artifact token and put it into play
Sacrifice Steamflogger Line Worker to have it assemble two 0/1 Contraption artifact tokens.
Based off one of the most useless cards ever, but if he had buddies it could be fun

I suggest making it lands+1 or something, otherwise it would require lands to already be in the graveyards for it to even go onto the field (and thus have it's effect go off)

I was going to try aura swap, but I realized that any card with aura swap is going to be inherently unbalanced in T2 until Eldrazi Conscription rotates out. So I'll take a stab at typecycling instead.
Vampire's Curse - :mana3::manab::manab::manab:
Tribal Sorcery - Vampire (Rare)
Target opponent's life total becomes 10.
Vampirecycling :mana2::manab:
Admittedly nothing shocking, but I think it'd play okay. I didn't build a deck because the deck is already out there.
Incidentally, this reminds me of a contest I ran on the old WotC forums a couple of years ago. The idea was to build a card around an existing keyword; each person could submit a card every day, but each keyword could only be used once. A forumgoer who went by the name of The_Zephyr posted a design for transfigure that I liked a lot; having dug it up from the archives, I'll repost it here.
Cryptgraven Homunculus - :mana2::manab::manag:
Creature - Homunculus Shaman (Common)
Cryptgraven Homunculus gets +2/+2 for each card named Cryptgraven Homunculus in your graveyard.
Transfigure :mana1::manab::manag:
2/2

Don't mean to sound like a doush but you forgot madness (If this card is sent to the graveyard from your hand you may play it from your graveyard for its madness cost instead.)
So here is my card
Parasite Outbreak 4BB
Target creature gets a parasite counter on it at the begining of that players upkeep that player may pay 2 if he/she doesn't put an additional parasite counter on it if a creature has 3 or more parasite counters Sacrifice it.
When a creature is sent to the graveyard from play put a parasite counter on another creature you control. Gravestorm.

but this is standard and with fetchlands in heavy use, it is quite easy to start off with lands in your grave. none the less, i will change it

As somebody else said, Madness was not new to future sight. I really only stuck with ablitties that didn't appear in non-future sight cards, though I guess I messed up with posion.
Anyways, great cards everyone! Keep it going!

Screams of the Past :mana1::manau::manab:
Instant
Rare
You may sacrifice all permanents you control, discard all cards except Screams of the Past from your hand, exile your library, skip your next turn and pay 10 life instead of paying Screams of the Past's mana cost.
Put the top X cards of target player's library into his or her graveyard where X is the number of permanents put into a graveyard from play this turn.
Gravestorm
The alternative way of paying for this card might seem a bit strong with gravestorm, but on the other hand if it doesn't win you the game after paying for it that way... you lose. Also the pay 10 life makes sure it wont be used when you are about to lose the game.

This card does not have anything to do with the future sight ablitties, and therefore does not fit with the requirements of the contest.
Well, we're halfway through the two week time frame, so I thought I would take a moment to explain how judging will work. I, the main judge, will award each card (or set of cards, as I determine) a judging value between 0 and 3.
0 = Does not fit with the requirements of the contest or is otherwise broken or invalid.
1 = Fits with the requirements of the contest and uses the ablitty is an average or mundane way.
2 = A creative use of the ablitty(s) chosen and could be feasibly used in a T2 deck.
3 = A very creative use of the ablitty(s) chosen that could provide new and interesting combos in a T2 deck.
All cards will also receive +1 point if they included a legal T2 deck included with their card.
After the two weeks, a poll will be opened that will allow any member to vote on the card(s) they think should win. Each vote is equal to 1 point. The card with the most points after 5 days of voting, wins!

A couple card ideas I had. Things seem to be slowing down a bit, so maybe these cards could spark some ideas of yours. These cards won't be submitted for judging.
Genesis, the Newborn Star :manaw::manaw:
Creature - Legendary Angel 1/1
Level Up :mana1::manaw:
Level 1-3 -- Vigilence, 2/3
Level 4-6 -- Vigilence, Lifelink, 4/4
Level 7+ -- Vigilence, Lifelink, Flying, Grandeur - Discard a card named Genesis, the Newborn Star from your hand. This creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn for each level-up counter on it. 4/4
Wall of Sacred Light :mana2::manaw:
Creature - Wall 0/1
Absorb 1
All creatures you control with defender and all Wall-type creatures you control that do not have absorb 1 gain absorb 1.
Dormin's Gift :manab::manab::manab::manab:
Instant
Delve
Return to your hand all cards you control that were removed from the game this turn.
After this card resolves, remove it from the game.
Goblin Breeding Grounds
Land
Goblin Breeding Grounds comes into play tapped.
:mana1::symtap: Put a 1/1 Goblin creature token into play.
:mana3::manar::manar::symtap: All Goblin creatures you control gain Frenzy 1 until end of turn.
Hidden Viper :manax::manax::manag::manag:
Creature - Snake 2/2
Hidden Viper can't block
Poison X
Seer of Tomorrow :mana2::manau:
Creature - Wizard 1/2
:mana1::manau:: Scry 1. You may activate this ablitty any time you could an instant.
:mana2::manau:: Fateseal 1. You may activate this ablitty any time you could an instant.
All players play with the top card of their decks revealed.
At the start of each player's draw phase, that player cannot draw a card unless the top card of their deck has the highest or is tied for the highest converted mana cost of the top card of each other player's decks.
Homeland Dragon :mana5::manar:
Creature - Dragon 4/4
Fortify :mana1::manar:
Flying, First Strike
Fortified land cannot be tapped for mana.
If Homeland Dragon were to be destroyed, instead destroy fortified land.
If Homeland Dragon is fortified, it gets +2/+2 and loses flying.

Dunno if we can submit multiple cards, but I had another idea, so...
Ritual of Reclamation - :mana8::manab::manag::manag:
Sorcery (Rare)
Delve
Return all cards from your graveyard to your hand. For each card returned this way, you lose life equal to its converted mana cost.

Okay, the thread is now closed and judging will now begin. I will judge each card with a value between 1 and 3.
Next I will open up a poll that anyone can vote on. Each vote amounts for 1 point. After five days on July 20th the card with the highest points on it wins!
So, here is my judging:
Steamflogger Line Worker - 2 (+1) = 3
Aether Veil - 1 (+1) = 2
Krozak, Defiler of Lands - 2
Irrelevent's Grandeur Cards - 3
Vampire's Curse - 2
Cryptgraven Homunculus - 3
Parasite Outbreak - 2
Screams of the Past - 3
Ritual of Reclamation - 2
Good luck to all!

Okay, the results are in, and its a three-way tie between Screams of the Past, Cryptgraven Homunculus, and Irrelevent's Grandeur Cards.
Personally, I'd put Irrelevent's Grandeur Cards in first place because I think they were the most creative cards put up. Screams of the Past would go second because, although it was creative, I would want to watch how it played in an actual game first. And Cryptgraven Homunculus was pretty cool, but goes in last simply because it wasn't an original card but was used in a previous contest.
Thanks to all who participated!
