Cancelling "Wrath of God" effects
Sorry - I know I just posted a topic, but another question came to mind as I was looking through my cards. I wanted to make a 'wrath of god' type deck based on the cards I have (I'm really thinking it might not work, but may want to try it out anyways).
I have the card "Endure" : Prevent all damage that would be dealt to you and permanents you control this turn
Is it possible to take out that card, and then right behind it play Wrath of God and have my cards be fine?
Also - if I have cards that have protection from white - that means they don't get killed by Wrath of God, right?
Thanks

The top of the stack resolves first so you'd technically need to cast wrath and THEN protection. Destruction isn't damage though, so you'd need a way to make your cards indestructible.
As for protection... I remember being told "DEBT" at one point but Im not sure if it was in relation to protection and since I'm considering running progenitus in my 5cc I'd like to know that one too...

I believe that protection from black(for example) means that all black damage done to that creature is reduced to zero, and it cannot be the target of black spells or abilities. So a world-wide affect would still affect any creatures that have protection from that color. But find a judge to ask *looks at Loki* because i'm not entirely sure on that. Hope i helped:)

I did some more research and yeah DEBT was for protection. Damage, Enchantments, Blocking, and Targetting are affected by protection. Destruction, non-targetting spells, and direct toughness changes (negative counters) would still affect it. Thus you can kill Progenitus with a Wrath or by giving it a bungton of -1/-1 counters.

Don't look at me!!!
jk, yeah, Wrath gets around protection. Funny thing is, a creature with Protection from White (or anything) does have protection from Wrath. But, since Protection means can't be Damaged, Enchanted/Equipped, Blocked, or Targeted, Wrath looks at it, doesn't do any of those things, and still kills the dudes.

You'd have to make them Indestructable to save them, possibly with an Eldrazi Monument or a Dauntless Escort.
