Proxies in pioneer tournaments.
Are we allowed to use proxies at pioneer events? And do you think that Deathrite Shaman is going to get banned?

I don't think that proxies will ever be allowed on an official event, no matter what type or legality. From what I understand pioneer is made so that you can use the cards you already used for standard-decks a little bit longer, so they assume that you already have those.

This is the short version translated from the above (German, I couldn't find an English version) official article:
Our current policy applies to DCI-sanctioned events. Cards on such events must be original Magic cards. The only exception is: If a card is damaged in the course of the game at a certain event, a judge can issue a proxy, which will only be valid for the duration of that event is, so that the player can continue to play.
