He does have the Mox Opals, but even so, outside of the Vault Skrige's phyrexian mana, there's no black mana symbols in the deck anyway.

What about Precursor Golem? Two free tokens each time you use the Vat.
Deck thinning always helps, this way he's increasing his chances of drawing meaningful cards once he actually has enough land to use.
I agree with you about the Armors. He could, however, run them if he ran Quest for the Holy Relic. Once Argentum Armor is in, it's devastating.
First draft of NP update complete. Geth's Verdict is supreme in removal for a sacrifice deck over the old Grasp of Darkness. I want to include Vault Skirge (colored artifact still works with DoDG), but unsure who to remove from the mainboard to make this happen. Top candidates are Pawn of Ulamog, Death Cultist, or Fume Spitter. I'm leaning towards the Cultists
Okay, that's where I figured you would be going with it. I imagine Shimmer Myr + Batterskull is going to be extremely popular.
She's great, honestly. The amount of games she's won for me when I've either faced too much removal (her ultimate is ridiculous) or burn is pretty high. She's especially helpful for discarding against other blue decks.
Well, Surgical extraction should take care of the two big non DoJ cards you'll have to worry about: Consume the Meek and Black Sun's Zenith. What about running Liliana Vess instead? I run two of her in my mono black. Helps with discard, would let you run one big creature like Nocturnus, and gives you a big backup to board wipe. I linked my deck, see if there's anything else in there you could use. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=125086
Puresteel Paladin looks awesome for decks like these, but I have a concern about its application: Let's say Metalcraft is active, and your equip costs are now 0s. The actual equip casting(even though free) is still considered a sorcery though, right? That means even if you have Shimmer Myr on the battlefield, you can't just cast a Sword during the blocking phase and equip it, could you? If not, I guess I don't understand the practicality of the Myrs in the deck.
Agreed on Sorin Markov. I find the "Russian Vampire" way too cumbersome to get out quickly enough to do some real damage. Definitely add some Vampire Hexmages to your sideboard to deal with any planeswalker nonsense. The one thing I'd be concerned about is your draw power. Sign in Blood is awesome for Black Aggro decks (I run one myself, but not vampires), and I'd consider switching Unsummon for Into the Roil. Gives you another possible draw option.
The best idea for synergy I can think of with the Gaveleer is how quickly you can start piling equipment on him. While the Stoneforge is cool and powerful, I think you want quantity over quality of equipments. The Stoneforge, to me, seems to solely focus getting one powerful artifact onto a creature. Adventuring Gear seems like a great plan. It's cheap to cast, cheap to equip, and even without the landfall mechanic kicking in, it's still helping you add those bonuses. Since you've added Quest, I definitely wouldn't run more than one or two Argentum Armors, I think one of the swords(I like Feast and Famine the best) would better suit Quest though if you can afford it.
Brian, I really like this idea. I think the issue I always had with Inexorable tide, like you pointed out, is getting it out into play quickly enough and still having the low-cost spells available in order to really harness its power. I was working on my own mono-blue infect deck, and was considering either a black or green complement. Your idea is definitely making me lean green.
That's definitely the concern I had. Once The first game goes by and my opponent can brace for infect, I lack a little speed if my counters don't come plentiful and often. The lion's share of the losses I took were after a first game win.
Deck updated with MBS cards. Thanks for the suggestions!
I haven't updated the deck with the new NBS cards yet, but Into the Core is definitely going to be included.
Inkmoth nexus is crazy powerful, I wasn't as shocked when I saw it going for $15/each I really like Core Prowler. Didn't see it much during the pre-release (I was playing Mirran anyway) and when I saw you make this deck, I got an urge to try to do my own off-color infect deck, so i tried using blue and some sprinkled proliferate. Play testing starts this week!
This is a great deck. I figured after seeing the MBS card list you'd see more artifact-heavy infect decks, but using White the way you did is pretty awesome.
I run a very similar deck (the theme seems popular) that's also standard. My win condition is either the Demon, enough sacrificing to keep the Beetles beefy, and Liliana as backup. I actually sideboarded the Disentombs because unless my game is going poorly, I really don't need them. http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=125086 A couple things I use that I love. 1. Consuming Vapors. It gives you a bit of relief in the life loss from Sign in Blood and the demons, and can possibly whack two creatures. Your beetles will love it. 2. Gatekeeper of Malakir. Same thing, forcing opponent sacrifice is a great way to build up your beetles, and reduce the player's threat level. I'm curious how you find the Blade/Vampire combo working. While the deck is built around sacrificing my own creatures for power, I find the self-sacrifice abilities (unless it's to pop the DoDG) much more powerful and useful to keeping my battlefield populated. Still though, if you are running 4 Bloodghasts, you won't run out of sacrificial targets :)
That's what i was curious about. You've got an obvious win condition, but it looks like as soon as that Colossus is somehow neutralized, you might as well concede.
I think I have to agree with the consensus here about finding some way to protect your combo. You are prioritizing speed (which is great) but unlike some other combo decks, you only have one possible combo, and it can only happens one time. Here's an example. I have a sac deck focuses on Demon of Death's Gate. I can get him out on turn 3. Sometimes, he gets countered. However, I have 3 more shots at it so I'm ok running the risk of blindly going all in for him right away. What I would want to know, is how you'd adapt to this situation: 1. It's turn 4. You pop the Blightsteel combo. You pass the turn afterwards. 2. Opponent casts Revoke Existance on colossus. You have no mana to counter, obviously. What happens next?
