Other than what I already said, the only other issue I have with the Shred-Freak is that if you have a Shred-Freak and an Ash Zealot in your starter hand, it makes much more sense to play Shred-Freak as your Turn 2 over Ash Zealot because you want to get as much damage as possible in with the Freak before it dies, but this pushes your Ash Zealot to a Turn 3 instead. I'd just rather play Ash Zealot as normal on Turn 2 and have the Reckoner in hand for Turn 3. Agreed he's probably overpriced but I traded for my set and didn't get ripped off too bad. I get what you're saying though, this isn't mid-range in any way, you are going for earliest possible victory in each game, I just like that splash of mid for this deck design in case you get a cold draw or your opponent stalls you out somehow. And I'm right there with you on the Temples, I hate that they are slow and I miss Rootbound Crag, but it's better than a guildgate and adds a small degree of hand-fixing. The only reason I am forced to run them is because in order to cast Zhur-Taa, Ghor-Clan, and Savageborn I need more than just the Burning-Trees and shock lands since it's purely a RDW mana set up. And the reason I had to do that is to ensure Turn 2 Ash Zealots and Turn 3 Reckoners. I have considered the War Chant but I haven't play tested it yet so I don't know how well it would work. Seems good, but maybe a little slow and it's a creature not in hand. Chandra's Phoenix won't work here either, it's decent but I don't run any burn except one spell and that's mostly for creature control so I won't have any way to get the Phoenix back. I'll definitely give the War Chant a try and see how well it goes.

I keep forgetting too, I miss my old cards! R.I.P. Tameo and Feeling of Dread especially. Control took a beating but they added a few new cards like Medomai to make up for it.
Doomed Traveler is no longer standard :/
I don't like God's Willing for this deck especially has a mainboard. You need more creatures, 12 isn't very many. I like Ash Zealot for this deck, it complements both of your devotion triggers and it's a solid 2/2 with first strike and haste.
I like it all but the Shred-Freaks, I would imagine he just dies most of the time, maybe landing a hit or so before death. I would personally replace them with Boros Reckoners for this deck design, a solid 3 drop that provides control and burn to complement the theme of this deck. Looks really fast and sick though and very similar to mine, but I run Gruul RDW. This is mine if you wanna check it out. http://www.mtgvault.com/drizzlebaby/decks/standard-turn-3-rdw-gruul/
Awesome idea but he'd still be summoning sick. Gotta be turn 2.
Also consider with the desperate ritual, although it does combo nicely with the other spells, it's a card in hand and doesn't provide any damage, and burn always could use draw card function so wasting a card in hand isn't ever a good idea.
Rakdos Guildgate would still be better than a Swamp in hand and could still guarantee Turn 3 Ball Lightning. ;)
Agreed. The guy who said that doesn't understand the burn concept I guess.
My advice is get rid of the swamps and put in Blood Crypts instead. You don't ever want a plain swamp in your hand if your planning on pulling a Ball Lightning on turn 3.
rancor isn't standard anymore
You have 12 non-swamp lands and 9 non-mountain lands, so I can see versatility problems with the Hero's Downfalls and the Ash Zealots. Since it's an aggro deck I wouldn't even run heroes downfall, a few Abrupt Decays would do just as well because you are centered around the early game and with the type of creatures you run it's better to not have a hand full of creatures instead of control early on. Other than that, looks pretty sick, Savageborn + Ghor-Clan is nasty, even as a 1/1 he swings for 10 with that combo.
It's a really cool idea but in Modern most decks are so fast that this level of control wouldn't be enough to stall it off. Just my two cents. If it pops though I can see it being very difficult if not impossible to stop. Cryptic Command + Elite Arcanist is a sick combo.
Land destruction is pretty sick but there are ways around it. A pure removal / Font of Mythos deck would take care of this no problem I think.
Inspiration is instant speed Divination, and only having to use one card! :P
Cool idea for a deck, aggro at it's fullest. Constant combo creatures dropping in the early game. I would suggest Dynacharge or Weopon Surge instead of Coordinated Assault in my opinion though.
Gauntlet of Power and Bad Moon wouldn't be a bad idea either prolly
+1
