i almost completely forgot about that card. it works to fill so many roles too.

smogsteed would be a very solid choice here.
that makes sense. ill have to see if i can find a modern legal substitute that's on horseback.
ooh, that's not bad.
if anyone has any suggestions for extra options to fish out for wish feel free to let me know. I'm drawing a blank here.
i like the stats and pros/cons on the description. that's super helpful to people starting out and this would be a solid starter deck for someone to build off of.if you drop erg riders for something like rakdos shred freak of zurgo, bellstriker it would even make it modern legal i believe
hahahah i definitely didn't miss that ;)
theres the answer i was looking for
fragmentize would do well on this list.
it doesn't need damage on the stack to activate the ability. the ability only needs to declare cephalid as the target to trigger his ability so you can mill your entire library (even if the ability fails due to a lack of damage [side note: i don't think you need damage to activate the ability since it doesn't target the damage but I'm no grand-Prix judge])the ability mills your whole library putting the 4 narcomoeba into play, you sac one for cabal therapy flashback cost to get rid of any pesky force of wills in the opponents hand and then sac the other three to flashback dread return to grab thassa's oracle and win the game.turn 0 happens because of leyline so you can do it before their first spell turn even really begins. I'm not so sure about the turn one lock they mention though. this all only works if im assuming right and you don't need a damage source on the stack to activate nomads.
ooh i like this
I'll always like this combo but i always have to bring up the issue i see. in this case your win con is almost exclusively in one copy of walking ballista. even having a bunch of protection for it i cant help but feel like an alternative use for all that mana might be a good idea. or maybe just a second copy for good measure might be a good idea.other than that i really like this deck and the assortment of answers it has to the issues you'll encounter in modern.
i like where this is going. i think it could benefit from a few cards like cloud shift, restoration angel, portable hole and fiend hunter instead of banisher priest. warden of the beyond also feels like he might be a bit more consistent than some of your other attackers like hero of bretagard. less flashy but also immune to lightning bolt on entry so long as something is exiled and a 4/4 vigilance for 3 seems good. hopefully this is helpful and those options all fit in your budget :)
honestly i miss all the activity. I haven't had much on my stuff in ages. i try to help where i can but i'm hardly on this site anymore.
secure the wastes?
i like that one a lot. its going in the sideboard for now until i figure out how to fit one in.
What a strange deck. I like it.
i know its a knight so it doesn't fit the tribe but knight-captain of eos is super good with mobilization in play.
The curve on this is definitely looking good.
While I agree with many of these suggestions I think taking out honor of the pure might be a mistake as something like guardians pledge is only temporary and if the game doesn't end on that turn it could be disastrous.
