hmmmm, good point, I know I'm trying to get 2 more cyclonic rifts to replace the 2 disperse i have in here. Shock will most likely stay then, now I gotta think what 2 cards to take out if i run curse of the swine, its getting harder to take stuff out

Gainsay is definately going in the sideboard. Voyages end i will consider, scry and return is tempting. I was looking at lightning strike instead of shock, weighing the option of 1 drop burn over 2 drop burn with one more point of damage. I really really really want that land, not for this deck but i really want it, haha i dont have enough permanents to use it for in here.

What do you think of trying to get like 2 chain to rocks? idk yet because thats one less spell and another permanent, not to mention if i plan to run curse of the swine i dont know if i will need it.

That too, either way, just want to make sure you dont set yourself up for disaster with that,Ive always liked immortal servitude, but rootborn would give ya another token too with precinct captains ability.

If he has out thalia tho he'll have to pay 4 for that.

A big card I've noticed in standard right now is ratchet bomb, so you gotta look out for that, especially in this deck.

I know it breaks your 2cmc rule here but running immortal servitude for protective measures verse something like that might not be a bad idea.

Now that I think about it Curse if swine will def. be making its presence in this deck when i get them. Anything you else in theros i need to keep an eye out for or consider? For sure i think ill put in magma jet

Hmmmmm, that's an idea, do you think it's be wasting his ability tho since I have no permanents with blue symbols in them other than the owl? And it's kill me to take any spells out for another creature. I was thinking that x spell that exiles creatures into boars, I can take theirs out and strengthen mine

To tell you the truth I thought so as well, but when I had him in he was too slow, he didn't do the deck as much good as I thought he might, I took him out and it ran much smoother.

I would probably drop the doors, they arent gonna do you as much good as you think, i'd add another way to mana ramp

Once theros comes out the only thing you'll have to change is primordial hydra, not bad =p I am a fan of hydras =p

I like this, you ran a slightly different direction than i did with your izzet control, you def. beat me on the counterspells.

I think 1 or 2 volcanic geyser in your main deck would be good, you have so much to hold the opponent off so if someone does kill your guttersnipe or you run out of fuel you can do one last finishing spell, especially if they only have like 5 or 6 life left.

I dont run standard very much so if you have time could you give me your opinion on my standard izzet control, almost the same concept but we run our spells a lil differently and a few different creatures.

no problem, and counterspell is the only thing here that shouldnt be modern legal, other good choices instead of counterspell, mana leak, dissipate, runesnag, spell pierce, condescend... Those are all modern legal =p

If you have the cards this is what I recommend:

Look into:
Counterspell
Echoing truth
Guard gomazoa
Gomazoa
Claustrophobia
Invisible Stalker
High Tide
Beguiler of wills
Guile

Any of these are worth looking into, and none of them are very expensive to buy =] These would improve what you have here, and the guile and beguiler of wills will give you a little better offense to help your teammate. Blue is slow so hightide is nice, other than that the counters and returns will keep the enemy at bay and the cheap creatures will keep anything coming at you at bay til you can over come.

If you dont mind spending a lil money, Isochron Scepter is horribly mean in blue decks.
