Alright i see what your saying, its nice that the mayor only cost 2, have you play tested this deck yet? Btw i dont play standard and ive built my first one recently, would you mind telling me your thoughts of it? Its the one labeled my first standard deck:orzhov. If ya had time id appreciate it, i wanna try it at a tourny sometime

I'm still thinking what you could take out for it, but you have plenty of cheap creatures to benefit off battle hymn for mana, and since your problem would be hitting mid game and your creatures being too weak to break through I think it would be a good idea to put in 2 more mizzium mortars and using battle hymn to hit it's overload pretty early in the game to wipe your opponents fields keeping your 1/1, 2/2, and 3/3's going longer. Battle hymn would also let you toss out a thundermaw and hellrider quicker than turn 5, you could even add something else with a slightly higher cost (only if battle hymn is something worth your time to add in), but not too bad looking of a build. Those are just some thoughts and opinions for ya
You have such a huge amount of creatures in this deck, why not try out Ordic's Crusader? I bet it'd work nice. And does mayor of avabruck work very well in this deck? I feel you could probably add something more efficient in here than that, like honestly even increasing savagery, for wild beastmaster, although it'd be great for any creature, especially with legion loyalist giving them trample. otherwise this deck looks mean, pretty aggro and seems quick =]
I really want some feedback on this deck, my first standard I've built, and I haven't taken it to any tourneys yet but I wanna hear thoughts on it. So far it's worked really nicely in games I've played against people I know.http://www.mtgvault.com/chewrida/decks/first-standard-deck-orzhov/
Interesting, I like that idea, but for the most part that would completely change the deck, I'd have to swap out like at least 9 to 12 cards and I can't afford to scrap this deck that much, It's a cool idea if I were to make a separate version of this deck. If anything I want more mask of the mimic, that pretty much just sets the combo off for 1 mana =] I appreciate your suggestions and thoughts on my deck tho
I just saw your comment on my myr retriever deck, thanks for your suggestion, i answered back to it. But for this, I really like mindcrank and duskmantle guildmage combo, do you have any bloodchief ascension because that would just make the combo more consistent. Interesting take on this deck tho.
I really don't need grapeshot in this deck, for my ways of winning when i cycle myr retriever I have more then enough, it's actually a really consistent deck
haha I gotcha, well Emrakul is always fun to have when you have a surplus of mana as well, either way =p
if you put in crab umbra, axebane guardian has an infinite mana combo =p provided you have him and 3 other defenders out, same thing for umbra mantle and any elf or defender that produces more than 3 mana =p And just for the hell of it you should just throw in something like primordial hydra or exsanguinate for the out of nowhere win =]
you should put in 4 ajani pridemate, it'll give the opponents more to worry about other than just vengevine. especially if the opponent uses something like surgical extraction then you'd have nothing to fall back on.
I think it's gonna take too long to get out your big creatures, waiting to hard cast them with no mana acceleration other than grand architect is risky, cool twist with the illusions, but if your gonna have those big artifact creatures in there you should add something like master transmuter, especially mixed with grand architect. I could be wrong, have you play tested it? How soon do you normally get enough mana to drop out a big artifact creature?
try adding genesis wave or primordial hydra =P
Haha My bad for not seeing that you're only running plains, well splashing some red in might not hurt, your choice, But i def. think that rootborn defenses would help, and if you were gonna drop something from this deck nearheath pilgrim would be my choice =p
I have a few suggestions, now i'm not an avid standard player but i'm gonna try it out more here soon. But with running red I think your missing out one it's most overpowering ability and scary instants/sorcery of burn spells, Maybe toss in some pillar of flame or brimstone volley. Also rootborn defenses would be a great mix with this deck to avoid field sweeps or just make you have a more aggressive attack phase without fear of dropping down your amount of creatures... If you were to take something out I would recommend nearheath pilgrim, I think the lifegain part to this will slow you down more than help you, You'll need a win or a better defense and instead you'll get a little lifegain which wont get you to that aggressive point you seem to need in this deck. Lifegain might help you more than I can see, but it's just my opinion =]hope i helped ya =p
Add something like moltensteel dragon so you can sac your life down without your opponent having to, if you have platinum out you can just sac it to 0 and either use soul conduit or repay in kind to win or you can just sac your life down to like 2 or 4 even with out platinum and do the same thing but then just attack with moltensteel or death's shadow to win =p
Thanks man, And ya I plan on owkring on my creature base, but actually i want to have a very high concentration of creatures for this deck, I overall plan on getting more copies of certain creatures such as arcbound slith and stinger and getting a third reforge the soul. I want to combo off semblance anvil, make most all my creatures cost nothing to play, play out my hand, reforge the soul, play out my hand again and if needed drop a hellkite igniter for a quick win =]Thank you for your suggestions, ill consider your suggestions like ruthless invasion and trash for treasure are something to look into.
Not bad standard budget vampire deck =pI would recommend taking out kruin outlaw for something a little more fitting to this deck like falkenrath marauders or a few more stromkirk nobles. Maybe even look into Falkenrath Exterminator, it's a pretty cheap vampire that is actually pretty good for only being a 2 drop. Otherwise, not too bad especially for a 20 dollar deck.If you wanted any ideas for yours or want to move outside of standard with it, go to my page and look at my deck call Red +1/+1 Counter Vampires.... It's a Modern legal red vampire deck I made.
I like seeing decks you don;t normally see though and this is one of them so like that, it's just too bad you can't personalize more. kudos for cifka though on rocking this deck. It probably threw his opponents off guard playing a deck like this. I like that you added wargate in this deck, that's a neat little add you made, silence is just a sexy card, so i can understand you being partial to running 3 in the deck. You know what my favorite part to this deck is, the fact that it's modern legal and is good enough to be ran in legacy and modern and win. I plan on putting together a modern deck that i could take to a tourny sometime, might take a little bit though cause I'm not about to spend 100 + dollars on a deck that I might not even get a chance to take to a tourny, I'll probably try to trade for the majority of what I want and if I catch wind of a tourny around me, MAYBE i'll fork the money out to complete one haha.... Decks like this make me really think about how competitive i need to make the deck or just having a really really good sideboard at least.... =p
I just looked up what this second breakfast thing is and that is such a cool combo, takes alot of thought tho to do the whole process, especially if it get interrupted at all by counters or something. but unless you exile one of the key cards, there really isn't anything that can permanently stop the combo. Though it seems kind of hard to personalize the deck because 90 to 95 percent of the deck has to have specific cards or the combo won't work or work consistently.
I might try throwing in a prototype portal just to see if it works out well or not. In past decks I feel that prototype portal wasn't as effective as it seems like it would be, I generally end up casting more spells from my hand than activating it's ability. But I'll be willing to throw one in next time i play this deck to see if it's worth the add or not. and with voltiac key and clock of omens i feel I have enough untapping effects. With clock of omens in play i can already untap my chalice of death several times a turn, and voltiac key although only can be used once a turn is amazingly cheap to activate. 4 ancient dens will be added when I acquire some. Thanks for the suggestions
