Yay! Someone else is picking up the locus land bandwagon!!! Cloudpost is amazing, and with Vesuva and Glimmerpost too, colorless mana production gets out of hand real quick :-) I've got a green artifact control deck that uses the same set up. Assault Strobe on any Elemental with trample will hurt very very badly, especially on a big boy. In the game above (if you had the cards) Turn 3: Assault Strobe on Ball Lightning + Fling = win.
Fluff, my man! Proliferate is by far my favorite mechanic. Well done on the deck. I love it! My laptop is dying and I'm going to reread all of this later, but before I forget I wanted to suggest Kulrath Knight or Power Conduit. The former for ruining your opponent's day since you're gonna have -1/-1 counters flying around all over the place, the latter to help facilitate counter movement. I actually have two decks that function off the main ideas behind this deck, maybe they'll have some ideas that can help you out (I actually built the paralyze one moments before I found this deck). And feel free to make a few suggestions if you like :-) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=127770 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=130957
How could you NOT have genesis wave in this??
Why not drop Llanowar Reborn in there instead?
Oh, If you're dead set on using green... consider Glimpse of Nature? And maybe add Everglades? Sorry, I got a on a little soapbox there... I like the elixir/thrumming/relentless combo :-)
I agree with the first guy kinda... you're gonna be pulling rats all over the place, so pack hunt is a little overkill, especially with thrumming stone in play, plus the forests required to play it take away from your swamps (which you will need at least 4 of in play, not counting colorless, if you wanna be effective). I'd say drop hunt and the forests, drop one thrumming stone (you wont be able to play one until turn 5 and by then you'll have drawn at least 12 cards so you should have a tutor or thrumming stone in hand). Cauldron of Souls will give all your rats a second chance right away and elixir will give them another shot after that. Watch out for Counterbore or Splinter decks... You'll be SOL without a counter spell.
Dear Mr. whynot, artifact/green decks have a special place in my heart. Well, done sir :-) I'm new at this whole MTG thing, so my suggestions may be terrible... That being said, I know you're trying to make this Stompy-esque, but while Vastwood is nice for green creatures, the other half of your creatures are gonna be pump-less. Maybe something like Energy Chamber or Power Conduit to facilitate that? I'd appreciate a look-see at my artifact/green deck and any feedback you can give. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=127770
Voltaic key? Maybe drop a few islands for things that'll get you a few more colorless, like cloud posts? I mean, you could play every card in this deck with 2 islands and 2 cloud posts.
Got it! Thank you sir! PS: Love the deck challenges you post. Very fun reading.
So, I'm new to deck names and stuff... What is "stompy" REALLY? :-)
