Deck Description

Am i the only one that seems to be excited about that?
seriously, i was going to quit magic for a while if they had brought that crap back next block. i like planeswalkers and i use them but i think they've ruined the way we play magic. it's not the same game anymore. if they never created another planeswalker card i'd be totally fine! i vote we keep the Lorwyn 5 and leave it at that!

On a more related note, this is my new UW control deck. i've been having problems lately with RDW and Tempered Steel. I'm trying to get past these nuisances, any comments or suggestions would be really helpful! ty!

Pretty interesting. I also attempted a blue/white control build without big Jace that was actually fairly similar to this. I'm still tweaking and haven't tested yet, but I sideboarded Revoke Existence for Tempered Steel and Kor Firewalker for RDW. I also threw a few Torpor Orbs in the sideboard to combat Splinter Twin decks. Here it is if you're curious: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=193688

Revoke existence is a great counter for Tempered steel! I like the Torpor Orb idea too. not sure how i feel about Kor Firewalker. I have Leyline of Sanctity i think that should help quite a bit but i'm having a hard time fitting the firewalker in. does it help more than the leyline?

The Leyline may help more, actually. I've been trying to fit those into my own deck. The problem is that you won't get it out until at least turn four if it's not in your opening hand. Kor Firewalker provides you with a cheap creature they can't get rid of, plus the life gain effect buys you some time. However, it might not defend you as much as the Leyline would. I would do testing with both and see what you like best.

i definitely like wall of omens.

as you suggested on my UW deck, you seem to have a thing for gitaxian probe, which is a cool card and all, and it replaces itself, i'd just rather see a spellskite or another gideon for the gideon + day combo. also, i'd probably run more sun titans if you do decide to take out your gitaxian probes. throwing tec edge, sun titan and spellskite all together along with gideon basically means you'll survive anything! :) lol

i'm a bit confused about blade splicer though, i think the spot might be better filled with a wurmcoil or precurser golem (since you have venser) but hey, that's just me.
all that control (oh and maybe magnets too?) your win con could easily just be bounce precursor and what not until you can -1 on venser for the win. it's not an aweful choice, just that precursor is kinda really vulnerable...

i like it though! :D
