Deck discussion for Illusionary Might Event Deck

Precursor Golem is not needed here, illusion decks are pretty fast, and this doesn't fit the theme.

Steel Hellkite is not needed for the exact same reason.

Again, with Porcelain Legionnaire, it's just not needed here.

Add 3 Lord of the Unreal.

Mind Control isn't needed, but I'm not going to say completely take it out either as it could be a great backup plan, so I'd say drop it down to 2.

Take out Preordain and replace it with Ponder, it's always better to scry 3 instead of 2.

If you want an artifact to make blue with your Aether Adept, you could always use Memnite, I always love that little guy.


These are just some of my first thoughts about this deck. Hope you take them into consideration.

Agreed about the Precursor golem and steel hellkite, but I think you should keep the legionnaires. Add 3 more Lords and Images, get rid of thopters and all mind controls. Put in treasure mages and wurmcoils as your bombs. Ponders for preordains imo too. I like Adepts for bouncing but you should at least sideboard Disperses in case of Venser combos and such that'll likely ruin your day.

That's how I'd play illusions.
Please take a look at my decks and throw in some ideas!

Btw you have six mind controls in your deck :D.

I don't totally agree with the Legionnaires, treasure mages, and wurmcoils, simply because, this deck is fast enough, it doesn't really need bombs. Should be able to put an end to the game in about 5 turns.

And then you realize that with the architects (and you should add 2 more zygma) you can cast the engine easily as early as turn 3. This deck supports itself very poorly unless you'll be able to copy a lord with an image thus keeping your other illusions alive. Without the Wurmcoils and Legionnaires it'll be very hard to survive if your lords or images get countered/killed.

My friend plays an illusion deck with 4 images and 4 lords and if both of them aren't on the field he has no hope against, let's say, my infection deck. Wurmcoils and batterskulls on the other hand are quite another matter.

Well, I hope zygma'll get something out of this conversation.

That one seems to be better because you have the chance at 12 total Lords. It would support itself quite easily. I guess the Wurmcoils aren't too bad as backoffs, but I still think it supports itself perfectly on it's own.

BradleyJonMoss Steel Hellkite and Wurmcoil are pretty good in an illusion deck. You can use Grand Architects ability to tap 3 blue creatures (including himself) to pull both of them out on turn three. Steel Hellkite is pretty good due to his ability to clear the board for a straight attack for your illusions and keep doing it each turn. Wurmcoil Engine is good because you can copy it with Phantasmal Image and it becomes an illusion and gets the +1/+1 boost and becomes 7/7 and if put into the graveyard is turned into a 3/3 deathtouch and 3/3 lifelink. But i agree with everyone else Precursor golem doesnt belong in there same with porcelain legionnairre, Spined Thopter and Aether Adept if you are only using that card for its ability take them out and just put Unsummons in.

I recommend putting in 2 more Grand Architects, 3 more Lord of the Unreals, 3 more Phantasmal Images, maybe try out Adaptive Automaton..remove those glacial fortresses and stuff and just use islands it would just be a lot better. I also recommend adding in Spell Peirce and replacing Preordain with Ponder. Drop the Mind Control down to 2 and you would be set.

To the people who don't know

This deck is basically the Illusion deck from the Illusions and Vampires event deck shlit.

Explains why there's random artifacts and only 1 lord
