I have Coalition Victory and I decided to build a deck around it. Possible turn 5 win turn 1: three color land turn 2: forest then bloom tender turn 3: another three color land(make so bloom tender gives 5 mana) Use bloom tender's ability to play 2 creatures that cover all the colors turn 4: Prismatic Omen turn 5: COALITION VICTORY

Think Terramorphic Expanse would help? Those tri-lands aren't helping Coalition of Victory at all - coalition needs basic land types. I'd run more basic lands and some land finders like Terramorphic Expanse or the guy that costs 2G and finds a land when he comes into play, he's a 2/2.

Coaliton Victory had a rule change: 9/25/2006: When Coalition Victory resolves, it checks for the five basic land types (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest) and the five colors (white, blue, black, red, green). If a single land has multiple types and/or a single creature is multiple colors, it will count all those types and/or colors.
This allows the tri-color lands to count for all three types
This deck would be much better if: replace all basic lands with forests skim off a few of the three color lands put in 4x bloom tenders mabye add a few birds of paradise this gives you a possible turn 4 win with turn 1: three color land turn 2: forest then bloom tender turn 3: another three color land (rest of the colors) Use bloom tender's ability to play 2 creatures that cover all the colors turn 4: COALITION VICTORY
why not a scuttlemutt or 4 which would make any creature acceptable for the coalition victory win. A prismatic lens / omen would work as well. and ZXC is right. No offense intended but overall fail.
Hey zxc, the three color lands do NOT count as the BASIC LAND types that CV checks for!
it would suck if some one stone rained one of your basic lands...
Deakon click on Coalition Victory and read the rule change that is on the page that comes up. I copied it into the comment earlier.
i added the bloom tenders and more forest
get rid of those 3 type lands and put in 4 prismatic omens
i have a multicolor pseudo coalition deck and pseudo beat down deck and prismatic omen does wonders and makes it alot easier to get things out
haha sorry for the multi posts, it also helps cause with prismatic omen in play just one basic land fills the requirements for coalitions land quota.
I was thinking about prismatic omen but i didnt want to rely on having to get that in order to play my creatures. Also, the 3 type lands allow for the turn 4 win
Tri-lands don't carry any of the 5 basic land types. Crumbling Necropolis can produce a red, black, or blue BUT it does Not have the land types of Mountain, Swamp, or Island, thus they do NOT help Coalition Victory Ruling: 9/25/2006: When Coalition Victory resolves, it checks for the five basic land TYPES (Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, Forest) and the five colors (white, blue, black, red, green). If a single land has multiple TYPES and/or a single creature is multiple colors, it will count all those types and/or colors.
I added prismatic omen to counter that. Then tri lands allow me to get my multi colored creatures out in case i dont have prismatic omen or coalition victory yet.
