This is my mill/ramp/lockout deck that placed 6th at my local FNM. It was hilarious watching those RDW decks getting screwed out of mana, as I am contaminated ground, and milling mountains off the top, and gaining life from my shovel. The shovel is really the MVP of the deck, which is why I run six. The deck also has the option of "comboing out" by playing omniscience and exiling their entire graveyard, getting you a small fleet of flyers, that their flyers cant block! The only problems I ran into were walkers, which I sided bramblecrush against. The other big problem was when I got curse of echoed so the noob control players could copy all my good spells. All in all, I enjoyed playing the deck, and will continue to improve it.
It's not hard. The deck basically plays itself. The intuitive, subtle, anti-control mechanisms that are built in will screw your friends $50 cards, while your deck only costs a meager $25. Dont be nervous about the lack of swamps, just mull until you have a chromatic lantern. Once, i contaminated my own ground as to get more black and to combat forestwalk. Also, go big or go home, with such high risk cards like cellar door, and unexpected results, the deck can be kind of swingy. Just rely on your shovels and codex shredders to keep you alive, while you slowly mill the shit out of them. One final pro play. In one game, the red player act of treason'ed my shriek geist, and milled my serence memberance off the top. At the end of their turn, I codexed shreddered it back into my hand, and then casted it, putting the shredder back in my deck! I hope you have as much fun as I did.
