Deck Description

This deck uses cards that would be overpowered if they could target players or creatures, but can instead only be used against creatures. Cards like binding agony make these cards hurt the creatures as well as the players.

How to Play

At the start of the game, try to deal at least one damage, and by the time an opponent can attack, have out something that can block. Use Binding Agony or Ragged Veins on an opposing creature. Smash that creature with every damage dealing effect possible. If you manage to get a Fire Covenant, pay 19 health to deal 19 damage to the enchanted creature, and since you dealt at least one damage at the start of the game, you will win. Also, if you use the Bazaar Trader, you can give away the Darksteel Myr, and continuously deal damage to it. If you can give away the Filthy cur, you will only have to do 10 damage to win. Use the suspend ability on Shivan Meteor, and in response to it getting played, flash in a Ragged Veins or Arcbond, and win the game that way. If you get out Stuffy Doll, you have practically won the game, because it's indestructible, doesn't need to be enchanted, and doesn't need to be under your opponents control.

Deck discussion for Binding Fire

Oh that Stuffy Doll. Quite nostalgic. I'm NOT a black player whatsoever, but I dig the deck. Very effective and I particularly like the approach; very original. Even if an idea has been thought up and used before by someone else, it's original to a degree if you came up with that idea on your own. Using "lesser" spells that don't target the player directly... that's pretty neat. Good job!

How about Star of Extinction from Ixalan? it costs only 1 more than into the maw of hell, ( and maybe 13 damage is enough once you have access to 6 mana) and it does 7 more dmg practically a one-shot.

I've tested a similar Deck and it worked quite well.

Yeah, that could would probably work. I made this deck a while ago, and haven't checked out any new cards. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try it out. N810, how did your deck differ from this one? Is it on MTGVault?

I think the biggest difference is 3 more stuffy dolls.

Very good concept and very good potential, but unfortunately much of it is wasted.

First of all, you've got a little bit of everything, which is okay, but I think that focusing on less ways to do what you want to do would be more efficient. For example, what's the purpose of doing 20 damage to every creature? You only need one creature at a time, as your main sources of damage are single target, and your main "link" cards are the auras.
Second, your mana is not nearly enough to cast CMC > 5 efficiently. I'm 100% sure you're NEVER gonna be able to use the tower, for example. Either you had a good hand and won earlier, or your opponent destroyed you by your 9th turn.

Consider trimming everything to pursue a single strategy: I like the indestructible Myrs a lot, so I'd do 4 of those, 4 thopters, 4 traders, a couple of stuffies. Only the auras for the "link", Shivan Meteor + Lightning Bolt + Crushing Pain for damage.

If you really want to go the "Massive damage" route, you're gonna need this. https://magiccards.info/ud/en/95.html

I agree with everything you said, and will begin making changes. Thanks you for the feedback. To me, it would seem that Repercussion (An awesome card that I had never heard of, by the way, thanks for the enlightenment) would work just as well in a "Massive Damage" route, as well as the more efficient route that you have recommended. It's pretty fast, as it's only three mana, and combos well with Shivan Meteor. Do you think that Fire Covenant could still have a place in a faster efficient deck? What about Filthy Cur? Any thoughts on Bomat Courier? I added it, because I felt that I needed a one drop besides Lightning Bolt and Ornithopter. I liked that it had haste, because it would make it easy to get the one damage necessary to get a kill with Fire Covenant.

Yeah I think you could do that. Courier has basically the same function as a Thopter, but it could do some damage on its own. Same thing for Filthy Cur, those creatures basically have the same function, so you could swap them around as you see fit, there's no decisive right or wrong choice.

Fire Covenant is situational I think. In a perfect opening hand, you have an almost guaranteed win at turn 3, but would be not as good in a lategame situation, or against an aggro deck that can damage you faster than you can damage him. You could spare a couple if you've got some free space in the deck, but I'd personally not make it my win condition.

Glad to help :) And congrats again for building something original. This stuff keeps the game fresh, I really appreciate it.
