The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

m building five mono colour 40-card decks (one for each colour) that are supposed to be similar in effectiveness but simple in rules gargon to use as tutorial decks for new players to learn the game. Because I am building on a budget and don't need expensive cards to teach the rules anyway, I've decided that each deck will consist of 3 uncommons, 23 commons, and 14 lands. Decks will either be 'creature' decks or 'spell' decks; 'creature' decks will have 15 creature spells and 11 noncreature spells while 'spell' decks will have 15 noncreature spells and 11 creature spells. I'm going for a certain level of symetry in the construction of each one so that it is easier to compare their effectiveness. All will be built using only cards from the Magic 2012 set. This is the Green deck. It is a 'creature' deck that focuses heavily on growth spells to accelerate mana and turn creatures into overwhelming powerhouses.

Include a rare in each deck. For this deck Garruk's Horde would work. Big creature at 7/7, two dollar rare, and easy to follow potent ability. An alternate option would be Arachnus Spinner. Fat at 5/7, has reach, is a dollar rare, and brings its own aura.

I like the idea of maybe adding one rare to each deck. If I do, Garruk's Horde will deffinitely be chosen as the rare for this one.
