Deck Description

This is a mono black control deck for T2. Works wonders at FNM. Might take it to a PTQ.

How to Play

Nighthawks and Gloom Surgeons are in there to slow down fast decks like Red deck Wins and fast aggro. The other part of the deck has good spot removal to compete with midrange. Crypt Ghast is in there to get out Grislebrand early and to help out with the overall mana in the deck.

Deck discussion for Mono Black Control

So, how are your hands with multiple Brands in them. Do you go for an outright, attack, and throw caution to the wind with him? Or do you just buy your time and drop them as you need? I have been looking to make a monoblack around the same type and was wondering about your experiences so I can have a further understanding of card numbers and such. I think I might use Lilana of the Dark Realms though, search for blood crypts and such. On top of that it would be cool to +x/+x for 14 damage or so. Any feed back would be helpful thanks.

The Brands I am able to get out turn 4 or 5 given I have a Crypt Ghast in play. The Gloom Surgeons and the Vampire Nighthawks are solely to stall those pesky quick aggro decks. If I have multiple Brands I usually buy my time and drop them when I need him the most. I only really attack with him if I have the field advantage. Most of the other stuff is there for threat removal and card draw for me to get to a Brand or a Crypt Ghast or the removal spell that I need.
