With Mutavault, and actual good removal with the return of Doom Blade, vampires finally have the tools they need to be competitive...for two more months.
For the first game, play like an aggro deck and hopefully blow them out with an active Vampire Nocturnus. Thanks to lifelinking creatures and first strike from Stromkirk Captain, opposing aggro decks will have a hard time getting through the longer the game goes on. Heavy control decks can be an issue, but generally you'll have enough threats to play out their removal and get through for the win.For the sideboard, here is where you can change from an all-out aggro deck to a more midrange-ish deck, depending on the matchup. Against Reanimator: -3 Rakdos Cackler, -2 Dreadbore, +2 Tormod's Crypt, +3 DuressAgainst Midrange/Control: -3 Aristocrat, -1 Ultimate Price, -3 Rakdos Cackler, +3 Duress, + 2 Appetite for Brains, +2 Slaughter GamesAgainst Aggro/Tokens: -1 Sign, -1 Ultimate Price, -2 Dreadbore, -2 Aristocrat, +2 Bonfire, +2 Ratchet Bomb, +2 Olivia
