Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (60 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This is my first attempt at my own Duel Decks combo. The Sideboard is the zombie deck. Each one seems to work mechanically well, and is quite useful against the other one as far as I can tell (don't have what I need to test). Tried to keep at roughly $35 as I was building, which is why there are some obvious choice cards that aren't in here. Tell me what you think.

How to Play

The plants feature many cards that can search your library for land, such as Gatecreeper Vine, or cards that bonus from it, such as Avenger of Zendikar. There are also cards that count the number of lands you control, giving your cards boosts to overpower your foes with ease. Karametra will also allow you to search for lands with every creature cast, essentially allowing for a land drop every turn. The Growing Ranks almost seems like a pointless card, but can be the most useful one in the deck. If you can manage to keep Sprouting Phytohydra alive through a single attack, it will place a token. Growing Ranks will make more of those tokens every single turn. And, with an Avenger of Zendikar on the field, you can pump those tokens up to be more powerful, allowing them all to continuously place more tokens, all for a better defensive line, which you may need to fight off some zombies, but can be useful any way you look at it. As for tree of redemption, it never hurts to have near limitless life...

The zombies, like any good zombie deck, focus on summoning as many creatures as possible. However, with a two card combo I discovered, you can use Dictate of Erebos in collaboration with Grave Betrayal to sacrifice your own creatures, causing your opponent to sacrifice creatures, then place them under your control. Certain creatures are more prepared to be sacrificed, like Black cat or Polluted Dead. There are also zombies ready to pump your other zombies in power and toughness, as well as make them cheaper to cast. And if all else fails, endless ranks of the dead them to pump more tokens than they can count, and swing for win.

It might just be an oversight, but the mana curve on the Zombies side seems really poor.

Hmm... It does seem to be a little poor. I'll take a look around and see if I can find some better mana choices for them. If you have any ideas, let me know. And thanks for pointing it out.

Wow. That is an excellent card sir. Especially in combination with endless ranks. Swapping it out for 2 Dictate of Erebos and 2 Grave Betrayals. Thanks for the immediate feedback.
