This is a blue-based combo deck and, if undisrupted, can kill on turn 4 using either Banefire or Blue Sun's Zenith.
There are several transmute cards to tutor for the combo pieces. Once "painting" Pili-Pala blue with Grand Architect, you have access to unlimited mana. This can be used to draw your deck with Azure Mage or Train of Thought and these can be transmuted by Muddle the Mixture. To immediately make this deck better, replace Deprive and Spell Pierce with Remand, and perhaps put in a play set of Misty Rainforest and Scalding Tarn to replace 8 Islands.

The reason I run straight basic Islands is that I MUJST HAVE LAND AVAILABLE. Halimar Depths is wonderful, but that it comes down tapped scares the piss out of me. Has it ever been a problem for you? Effectively losing a turn to tell time?

Nope. Usually because I can set up two can trips next turn anyway.
My ideal operating range is turn 4. If it doesn't happen by 5 most times, the opponent would have answers. I assume from the Remands, that your policy is to delay the opponent with tempo tactics while digging for not only your pieces but rebuttals to opponents' answers. Would I be correct to assume that?
Yes you would. Muddle the Mixture also serves as a counter spell as well as a way to fetch up ideal cards.
