This deck is built around a simple, but ageless concept. Make plays, deny plays, and turn guys sideways (otherwise known as Tempo). UG Counter Aggro uses a well balanced combination of cheap and efficient creatures and counterspells to establish an ever-growing board position while your opponent struggles to make plays. The name of the game is card advanatge, which is gained through cantrips, 2 for 1s, mechanic abuse, and a bit of ramp. There is no one card this deck relies on to win, and there are very few things this archetype can't deal with. This deck is beautifully simple, and can be remarkably effective, regardless of match-up.
Affinity - 50% pre-board / 90% post board (I actually haven't lost a game post board yet, but I must leave room for error) 12-5 OverallJund - 60% pre-board / 70% post board (Bloodbraid Elf is your enemy here, but otherwise not much to worry about) 6-2 OverallLiving End - 66% pre-board / 66% post board (Sideboard needs tuning for this match-up, but more often than not I have counters for LE) / 4-2 OverallMelira Pod - 70% pre-board / 85% post board (Pod never lives post board, pre you still have great answers for their curve) - 5-1 OverallRock - 75% pre-board / 75% post-board (I haven't teched for this match-up yet, but I havent had to...too easy to stop their plays) 3-1 OverallRDW - 50% pre-board / 75% post board (Similar to affinity in unanswerable speed, but Kitchen Finks, PtE, and Spell Snare out of the board helps a ton) 7-5 OverallSplinter Twin - 75% pre-board / 85% post-board (Their protective counterspells don't stop Venser or Mystic Snake, gg) 7-1 OverallZoo - 60% pre-board / 60% post board (Can't find any real advantage or disadvantage here, just happy to be winning) 9-7 Overall
