T2 Precursor Golem

by Zanmor on 17 October 2010

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Slight ramp into golems and spells to abuse them.
Fleeting distraction can be used on the golems for cheap card draw.

Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Deck discussion for T2 Precursor Golem

It seems to me like this would be best as a red/blue deck. Red gives you access to Assault Strobe, which is one of the nastier things to play here, as well as access to Kiln Fiend, which synergies with just about every card you would want to put on the Golems as well. And you could still have access to some removal, in the form of burn (lightning bolt, etc)

I do like the ability to drop infect on unblocked golems (and blocked ones for that matter) but yeah, red could be great with this deck.

I could be wrong but I'm not sure if normal counterspells will help save your golems.
Won't Precursor golem's ability resolve even if the original spell doesn't?
It looks like you will need a counter for each golem in play.

Also what about Twisted Image instead of fleeting distraction?
Doesn't that mean essentially no drawbacks?

I'm working on a similar deck. Can you help me out?

The control is more to hold things over until I get the golems out. Perhaps I should opt for Cancel or the like instead.
And good call on Twisted Image, that is indeed better.

i am working on one like this as well, i went RBG, green gives you access to withstand death which will ripple through your ranks as a solid counter before your assult
